Found an interesting article in the July 1999 edition of The Bluefield Gazette. Seems Appalachia’s Tom Tuner and Powell Valley’s Phil Robbin we’re invited to Bluefield to be speakers at a high school football coaches clinic. Both coaches fell ill with stomach problems and ended up taking many 💩 in town. And just like that, Wv high school football was born!
 
Who knew that the fecal matter of two vhsl hall of game coaches was enough to bring life to Wv high school football.

As much as it pains me to say this, Central could be a real problem in a few years unless politics take over etc etc etc. When you play that many young guys the future has to be bright. 

I could give two cares less about Wv high school football. I get on here to keep up with Virginia teams.

Just like 2 weeks ago 2A Union was better then 6A  Morristown West a Tennessee team.

All I know is there will be a new number 1 in the weekly top 10 poll. Ridgeview or Chilhowie who will it be maybe Pulaski Co. Bluefield falls to at least 4th maybe 5th can't get dominated at home by  a VA team and still be number 1.

But you don't think maybe Bluefield gets a little more love bc a lot of people don't see them play? 
This season, they likely beat everyone in Region D. Last year? They squeaked by a Graham team that got drilled by Union. And year before, didn't Giles kinda have their way with them in a benefit game? Maybe I'm wrong on that.
 
But tonight again proves that as a whole, VA football is just better than WV. And the talk of Greeneville/Bluefield is just crazy, it wouldn't be competitive this year.

Giles beat Bluefield last season in the benefit game. As well as the 2016 benefit game

Ethan Mullins held back in 8th grade, along with a large number of other players that year. Non the less, he is extremely fun to watch and quite talented. Not taking anything from him by pointing out that he held back. He’s a good, humble kid. 

I do hope they win the whole thing though. Now that the game is over, maybe a far Southwest VA team can finally bring back a state championship in something other that wrestling & baseball.

Now that is something we can agree on 100%!

He's good, he takes all there shots, scores the most points and won them the game tonight, but I wouldn't wanna play on a team with him. I don't see other players getting better around him.

Yep. That’s me. After the game, I also posted that I stood corrected and cogratulated graham on their win. That’s what men do. Admit they were wrong. Got no problem with it. I also said Union would beat everyone by two scores in the region D playoffs in football this past season (Richlands almost spoiled the party. Much respect Blue Tornados!) and I heard about it. Didn’t pack up my tent and leave the forum. So what if graham does win. So what if someone, such as yourself, decides to call me out on it. Even after I admit I spoke incorrectly. Is it gonna change my kids birthday?  Will my paycheck change?  Nope. I’ll congratulate them, again, and cheer them on in the title game. Come one man. We are a bunch of has been a talking about high school sports. Just so happens we have had some special talent concentrated in Southwest Va this year that has brought this place to a fever pitch. That’s great. We need that in an area where some of these kids will come home from practice to find out mom or dad just got laid off. Or they have to move because the mines closed. 
 
In short. If your gonna quote my past post. Quote the whole thing. Don’t try to look good in front of your pals. Be a man. Do three minutes of research. You’ll find all you need to see.

That would be my solution. Holds 9,275. But over on Preps I've been lambasted as being "entitled" because I think they should play it in an arena that can actually hold enough people that they won't have to bar the doors.
