I have no ideal how Galax is allowed to host  any playoff games past the opening rounds . The visiting stands are laughable in their capacity.  

My take is Bluefield is better than their record and Grayson isn't quite as good as their record indicates. I think Bluefield pulls out the win against 2A Grayson...ummm I mean 1A. 

I left the Giles game early bc we were getting killed and PM was up 14-13 on Narrows so I wanted to watch a decent game. I made it to Narrows and the score was 50-14…. I was so upset lol 

Well we will likely be hated again because our adm numbers are going to put us back in 1A if I was a betting man. The way that works is total bs and there are a number of better ways to divide the classifications but it’s a money game for that bunch IMO. For me, I am fine either way to be honest but as much as we had a pile of success in football, it never translated to other sports.  We made good runs but not as many as I would associate with being the “bully”, lol. Not saying any of this for sympathy just saying that I would bet there are three other school within your coverage area that have more or have had more kids than we had during this last 6-8 years. 
Just glad we didn’t win the appeal so now you guys can hate on one of your own in Grayson. I need to know who their lawyer was though………..lol
All kidding aside I do enjoy coming on this board for the back and forth. You guys are hard core and don’t mind getting real. That’s a tab bit lost nowadays. 

It's a long season and I know everything has to go your way . Stay healthy , have weather that works against your opponent , and zebras that don't wear glasses. If you get that and a little luck in the playoffs you may have a chance to raise the trophy . That being said , should be a heck of a post season . As long as all the kids stay healthy I don't care who wins , but I do bleed RED .  I'm not to fond of CROW . lol

It does. I really miss the atmosphere back home. There are only about  3-4 places from here to Miami that have a decent atmosphere. Vero Beach comes the closest to matching a SWVA atmosphere with their band, crowd and train horn. That Said, it's nice watching late October and November football in a tee shirt, shorts and sandals. 🤔 That, and there are a lot of nice athletes in most games we go to. Everybody down here has guys who can run.

I hope Giles beats the Class 2 school that cried and was allowed to stay in Class 1 by 50 points.

Blacksburg lost 35-8 to Giles to open the season. Blacksburg beat Floyd 40-14 a week ago. For Floyd to be down so many players to injury and play Grayson pretty even tells me Grayson might be in trouble as the season progresses. I don’t think they are nearly as good as the preseason hype suggested. 

Grayson County goes to 4-0.  All four wins have been by a combined total of 21 points (5.25 pts per game average win margin). The combined record of the 4 teams have beaten is 3-13.  
Alleghany, NC who is 1-4

Rural Retreat who is 1-2
Floyd County who is 0-4
4-0 is 4-0 and there is absolutely no question about that, but it's not a pretty 4-0 by any means considering how solid Grayson was supposed to be.  If I'm 4-0, I would feel pretty good, but considering how good I was supposed to be and winning by that low of margins against not so good teams has to worry me about what's to come in the season.

Marion is in year 2 of a new system that was taken over only a month before the start of last season. While your assessment of the skill players makes sense, they aren’t big enough up front to protect long enough to be successful in the spread in the SWD. Triple is a good offense for a team that’s undersized up front with some decent athletes. The QB doesn’t necessarily have to be a great athlete (although that helps) but needs to be a good leader and good decision maker. Running triple also shortens the game and keeps the score from getting out of hand, allowing a weaker team to stay in games longer.

@sixcat is correct. The 9th graders was allowed to play on the Fries varsity squads in all sports.  The reason being is the bus ride from Vaughan school to Fries was a 5 mile ride tops. If the Vaughan kids rode  the bus to Hillsville for practice after school, the practice would of been all but done by the time they arrived. Almost an hour bus ride. So playing varsity sports at Hillsville for Vaughan kids was not possible- thus the exception. 
 
30 years dang!

You can’t teach size, speed, agility and brute strength like CCC possesses. Clements is a good athlete but CCC has enormous upside and potential as a D1 prospect. He won’t play RB at the next level but he’s a prototypical D1 TE or DE. 

Complete speculation but next year should be fairly good with a decent playoff run.  IMO there will be a drop off for 3 or 4 years where we could be 8-2 or 4-6 depending on development. Then there is always the possibility of Norcross stepping aside (another coaching change) or lack of participation if the team isn’t winning rings. Lots of things could impact the future in G’ville. 

Mount Airy wins their 7th state championship 20-7 over two time defending champion Tarboro.
