If someone here can find last year's Mtn 7 all conference and some of the last years of the LPD all district teams and prove that the number of kids being honored is significantly lower than it is now then I may agree with you. I would bet most of us have not been in those all district meeting and don't know the story as to why they have 23 kids on 1st team. If any of you all would like to copy the list and highlight the KIDS (and let's remember they are kids) that you feel should not be on the list then go ahead. But to be fair to the kids don't hide behind a screen name make sure to post your name and where you are from too. 

If that’s the Lee transfer he will be a monster.  I think they will be back in the mix next year.

I agree with this 100%. Idk what happened in the little league fight years ago but Coach Turner, who got injured, did not deserve it. I enjoy this forum a lot but what you said GMan was wrong.
And I hate it that people with your “power” have the authority to say what you want with no consequences, but if someone was to say that Palmer deserved to get “punked” then they would get banned....SMH

I call bullsh&@ , Union has won 9 games this year, no one has given us nothing, I heard the same line last year “there is no way a one dimensional team like Union will beat Graham” well they did. This is a different team with many many new faces. Does Graham have a great team????, at the first of the year we heard how bad they were. by their fans.  
We have a tough game but everyone knew that the championship for D would have Graham envolved . ABINGDON won, due to poor execution, 7 turnovers.They were the better team.they play in a 2 a conference full of tough teams....so what, leave it alone, it is what it is, years ago POWELL VALLEY lost to a much bigger school at state , NO BIGGIE it makes us better, makes them better everyone wins, its about the state title not the mountain district

Abingdon does not have a 500 student special Ed program..I know that for a fact. So I'm not buying it either. Union and Ridgeview lost, so I think it's time to get over it and quit making excuses. 

Abingdon does NOT "play down", they are in a "mixed" conference, like a LOT of other schools in Va.  Maybe you should go to 3A Christainsburg, where 2/3rds of their district foes are 4A or 5A.
They are NOT "allowed" to win a title - they have to earn it just like any school, in any sport.
Winning a district tite has NOTHING to do with making the playoffs anymore... hasn't in who knows how long. (Maybe it does in the 'minor' sports - I don't know.)

@Widespread_PanicI’m cool with you having your own opinion and what you believe will happen, may end up happening. I’m just curious as to why you think Va High is a bad team. VHS has underperformed this year But they have had a much tougher schedule than anyone in the M7.

They extended him for 1 more year after last season. This season is now over with a repeat 1-9 season. The coaching duties should be taken before too long. Not sure if it will be tomorrow or next week or when. But I would assume it’s coming in the near future. At least everyone in Gate City hopes. 

Keep in mind that was Phil Robbins' record in his first three years at PV.  The former Vikings' HC, James Bolling, handed him the keys to a Cadillac.  Robbins' coaching career began in a rather inauspicious fashion at John Battle and Christiansburg  with a record of 47-70-5. fourseasonsfootball.com

Martin was let go because the new head coach and school board member were good friends. Head coach on a power trip with his wife.  He was a decent quarterback in high school but didn't work as an assistant long enough to learn the game enough to run a program.  Never was a leader, only a follower. He's made the statement while one of lee's lineman was benching 400 or so pounds that he had never seen that at LHS before. One of his former teammates and All American lineman at Emory & Henry replied, that if he had spent any time in the weight room as a player he would have seen that feat.  Lot of talent at Lee and they sure deserve better than what they got at the top.  Going to be hard a new coach to come in here and start from scratch.  Only good news is that there is plenty of talent in the pipeline in youth program, jv and varsity got a long way to go.  I sure am glad that my grandkids are at Union.
