Austrian Ben Shapiro got a reaction from bleedblue89 in Week 6: Richlands @ Ridgeview
Like others have said give credit to Tarter for sticking with these kids when other coaches have bailed on them and he has caught much more flak for staying than the others have for abandoning the team. There are a lot of issues with the program but Tarter imo is not one of them.

Grundy and Tazewell always play a close game when played in Grundy, and when this rain rolls in lord knows what will happen. I'm so glad I stopped coming to this site and posting all the time. It's just not worth it.

This mindset is likely one of the main reasons for the decline in long-term coaching careers. It seems that many of the area schools change coaches almost every other year. The demands of coaching now require dealing with the effects of changing values and prioritization of those values. Among these, expectations of instant gratification in the form of “win now”, despite the culture of “me first” over team. I, imagine, resignations to spend time with family, indeed the right decision, is because the requirement to spend more time year-round to win, without long-term appreciation and support for teaching valuable lessons. Instead, it’s “do what I want, so that I can be a star and get a scholarship.” This isn’t meant as an indictment on any individual, but how our society is becoming as a whole. Coaches are often the means to and end, nowadays. I was very fortunate to have played in an era where the values were more predicated on hard work and teamwork. I can point to the application of those values in my life every day. I can really appreciate those who continue to Coach for the right reason, despite more effort for fewer rewards.

Who holds your purse while you report people to the admins???

Austrian Ben Shapiro reacted to SwvaOG in Tazewell @ Grundy
If the weather is nasty the line moves toward Grundy. This should be a nervous game for the Dawg fans. A sloppy field in the rain…plus Nelson being a documented tough place to get even calls….favors the Golden Wave.

Austrian Ben Shapiro reacted to Gridiron60 in Week 6: Richlands @ Ridgeview
Richlands is a hot mess right now with a group calling for McGee, Vencil, & Tarter to go. Seems like a select core group stirring the pot & getting others in an uproar to take up the cross with them so to speak. Kid wasn’t playing the entire game anymore & coaches trying some different stuff. Mommy got mad (egged on by some former coaches , hearsay) & kid quit and possibly transferring to Lebanon. I’m not sure why anyone would want to coach in that end of the county these days with all that drama. Tarter is a much better person & dedicated person to tough it out for those boys than most would be.

Maybe the team doesn’t need someone who isn’t willing to stick out the 2nd half of the season??? I admittedly know zip about the team dynamics or Simmons’ abilities but quitting on your brothers is a bad look. Mom sounds like one of THOSE sports’ parents , lol!

I’m not a Richlands person but Dylan Brown is absolutely their best player.

Austrian Ben Shapiro reacted to bulldog05-CO2017 in Gate City vs Lebanon
If gate city played Richlands again, they’d blow there doors off. That was a game with first game mistakes and Richlands just come out with less. Gate city will win this with ease. (They should anyways) lol. As everyone said. It’s hard to predict Gate city.

If you don’t have a clear cut impact player at QB1 I don’t see the problem in making some changes to ensure your best athlete touches the ball every play

With the way VT is playing, wouldnt most HS games be just as entertaining?

Austrian Ben Shapiro reacted to Account Deleted in Week 5 Scores & Updates
Why was this game played on Saturday? Giles coaches decide VT games are more important than the high school games they coach?
If so, I can easily see that being a huge distraction.

From what I seen against Bluefield there is little to no drop off in passing ability from Simmons to Brown. However I never really seen them throw a deep ball.

Austrian Ben Shapiro got a reaction from Irishman in Bluefield @ Richlands
Bluefield is 1-4 and has lost 3 of those games by a combined 9 points. -14 PD on the year after tonight.
Richlands is 1-4 and hasn’t played a competitive ballgame since Week 1. -100 PD after tonight.
Big difference in the teams behind those records. Neither team should be celebrating much of anything regardless
