Looking ahead, there are only a few games where the outcome could really be considered in doubt:
(1) Thomas Walker/JIB play each other, so that result washes for Union. Don't need to consider this one.
(2) JIB plays Rye Cove, which is having an even worse season than they are. I've given this to JIB, so a loss here would drop 2 rider points from Union.
(3) Thomas Walker plays Twin Springs, who's quietly having the best season no one's talking about. I gave that one to Twin Springs, so if TW can pull the "upset", that's 2 more points for Union.
(4) Grundy plays Patrick Henry. I think Patrick Henry should be favored by a fair margin, but if Grundy springs the upset, that's 2 more points for Central.
Rye Cove dropped varsity football for the remainder of the season...
Lots of football left, but looking more like Gate City will be the 4 from the M.7 and Graham will be the 1 from the S.West. It looks like Gate City will travel to Graham in game one of the playoffs and the last time they met would be roughly 84 months ago, in 2014, when Gate City gave Graham its worst loss in the history of Graham High School Football by a score of 70-0. Man, how things have changed in 7 years.
This game will Not be anything close to 70-0 or a 70 point margin of victory for Graham, and I don't mean this with and disrespect to Gate City, but for the 2021 season, Graham may have the ability to make it 70-0 if they won't to.
Do they cross bracket for the playoffs??? I thought top 8 by points then 1 v. 8, 2 v. 7, 3 v. 6, and 4 v. 5. I thought cross bracket was for basketball. Am I wrong? If so, when did it change?
Always thought the VSGA was a bit crooked. Only met one person from the entire organization that I liked and/or trusted and that was Richard Smith. He was by far the best the VSGA had.
Now days with the way they have rerouted 460 from 81 at Blacksburg id say you probably add about 20 minutes or more travel time. Took my dog to the vet hospital there and its a mess.
You're crazy. The new route is light years faster than going through all the red lights in Christiansburg. You either don't know how to drive or don't know where you're going.
Fact, 95% of the people that buy tickets to sporting events buy them to see the teams play said sport, not to watch the band at halftime. The band is allowed to perform during the time the teams aren't playing.
