At times, I will get out my notes from my pastor's previous messages.  I see one that speaks fresh to my heart for the day, and I will post it to family and friends.  In the message I posted today, it is a testament to the Blues team, as well, for this season.  
"After the flood in Genesis 8, the raven was sent out to seek dry land.  It never came back.  The raven didn't return, because it fed on dead things it found.  The dove was then sent out.  The dove returns with the olive sprig.  The raven's testimony, "I found what I needed without you."  The dove testimony, "I found what was needed, but didn't want it without you."

"Pain should never change your vision for the finish line.  We must continue to run the race.  The pain and weight tires us, discourages us.  The apostle Paul said as his testimony, not glory to his trials, "I have finished the race.  I haven't come in first, but I've finished."  
The Blues are scrappers, they've kept pushing and focusing.  They haven't always gotten the win, but they are crossing the finish line.  

Will John Marshall travel to Bristol via the basketball team's recruiting airplane?

I say they forfeit tomorrow (Thursday).  They will claim illness and lack of players.

Both head coaches, Jack Ginn and Ronnie Davis, graduated from Richlands in 1983. 

This triggered the following memory...  Richlands played basketball at VHS during the '82-'83 season.  The Bearcat student section fanned out along the first row of the (then) new gym and unfurled a long banner that read, "Blow Me, Tornadoes" replete with a naughty-looking rendition of our mascot.  It was enough to make our guys stop and laugh during the game.
Sorry if this violates terms of a family friendly board.  But I have to admit that I thought it was clever.  Perhaps the current generation of Bristol youngsters can come up with something snappy.

The Justices make the 320 mile drive from Richmond to Bristol to take on the Bearcats. The JM football team does not, in fact, have any stolen AAU players so this one will probably be a snoozer
 
So in lieu of football discussion, let's talk about some possible signs VHS should put up around the stadium

It was really good to see those kids and coaches celebrating last night. You could see how happy and relieved they were and were soaking up the moment. Winning was something we had taken for granted for so long. 
Hopefully, this is the beginning of something special. I don’t mean, we’re back. It just does something for a person to have some rewards for their work to build on success. Belief is a power motivator. 
I know some of those kids will remember the hard times, and have a bright future because of what they endured and have the opportunity to overcome.
Watching Galax was a humbling experience to see how quickly you can go from top to bottom. Good luck to the Tide the remainder of the way. 
Congratulations to the coaching staff for staying the course despite setbacks. 

I just don't see Richlands beating anyone this season. I'd love to be wrong, but 28-21 Galax.

Galax wins. Richlands is a whole other level of bad.
