The block in the back penalty was farce.  Just saw it. That official should just resign and go bowling on Friday night.

Update on the Honaker kid. No breaks. The family thanked eveyone for the prayers. They also thanked all the players and fans from lebanon that stopped and checked on him as they left the game.

The Xray Mookie had is negative.  The injury is his big toe on his left foot.  Giles lineman stepped on it.

He'll have an xray in the morning as it may be a foot injury instead of an ankle. I'll post if I find out anything. I really hate it for him he's such a great kid off the field.

He made some good decisions and some poor decisions but he was under a heavy rush a lot of the game.  He appears to have a good arm and seems to be a tough kid.

Bluefield's line was abused when they went against more physical teams last year and the Beavers lost four starters there.  The secondary had major problems against good teams too.  I'm not sold on how good Bluefield will be.  I think they'll field a young team but they still have a difference maker in Mookie Collier running the ball.  Reed is faster but I think Collier is still the best player on the team.

Coal Forum Demands Candidates Support Coal Industry
The West Virginia Coal Forum is calling on all presidential candidates to respect and protect the coal industry and the miners who have built this nation.
The Coal Forum is an organization representing business and labor in West Virginia’s coal industry.
As the public now should be abundantly aware, presidential candidate Hillary Clinton made it clear this week that she will continue the Obama Administration’s war on coal.
“We’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business,†Clinton said Sunday night while boasting about her clean energy program — and with a big smile on her face, according to media coverage of the event. The remarks were made during at a CNN town-hall event.
In West Virginia, with more 12,000 miners laid off, hundreds of mine closures and over 65 million tons of lost production, her threats are nothing to smile about.
“At the West Virginia Coal Forum, we know it’s a tough time to be a coal miner. We’ve had it bad enough for the past seven years under the current administration. But when someone who wants to be a world leader states unequivocally her intention to put more of our proud miners and companies out of work, it’s time for the electorate to hit a giant pause button,†said Coal Forum Co-Chairman Chris Hamilton.
Clinton told the crowd she planned to use $30 billion in taxpayer funds to retrain coal miners for other fields, but as several media outlets pointed out this week, she might be hard-pressed to find an industry she supports.
“But retrain for what?†the New York Post wrote March 14. “Name a single working-class industry that the modern Democratic Party actually favors. (And, no, “green jobs†don’t count: They exist almost exclusively in liberal rhetoric.)â€
The Coal Forum urges all presidential candidates to educate themselves about the reality of electric power generation and construction in the United States.
“This nation cannot thrive without using coal for power and to make steel. That’s the plain and simple truth,†Hamilton said. “And the rest of the world knows it. Anyone who wants to be president of this great nation needs to stand up for coal and stand up for steel.â€

The kids filed into class Monday morning. They were all very excited.Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on salesmanship.

Little Sally led off. "I sold Girl Scout cookies and I made $30" she said proudly,"My sales approach was to appeal to the customer's civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success." "Very good", said the teacher.

Little Debbie was next. "I sold magazines" she said, "I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events." "Very good, Debbie", said the teacher. Eventually, it was Little Johnny's turn. The teacher held her breath.

Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher's desk."$2,467", he said."$2,467!" cried the teacher, "What in the world were you selling?" "Toothbrushes", said Little Johnny. "Toothbrushes", echoed the teacher,
"How could you possibly sell enough tooth brushes to make that much money?" "I found the busiest corner in town", said Little Johnny, "I set up a Dip & Chip stand and I gave everybody who walked by a free sample. "They all said the same thing, "Hey,this tastes like dog shit!" Then I would say, "It is dog shit. Wanna buy a toothbrush? I used the President Obama method of giving you some crap, dressing it up so it looks good, telling you it's free and then making you pay to get the bad taste out of your mouth."

Little Johnny got five stars for his assignment

No one saw Randy Moss with the DuPont basketball team against Bluefield at the Bluefield Armory in February '95?  He was a one man team that night since Jason Williams graduated the previous year and we beat them by over 20 on our way to the AA state title.  Gene Nabors from Woodrow Wilson we beat that team in '95 at the Armory and he played pro overseas.  Tamar Slay from Woodrow played against Bluefield at the Armory that I saw.  I can't remember if Carlos Bradly made the NBA from Woodrow or not, but he started guard for South Carolina for two or three years under Dave Odom.  I believe he played pro overseas.  Saw Rafael Cruz from Wheeling Park play in Beckley in the mid '90.  He played pro in his native Puerto Rico.

Saw O J Mayo and Patrick Patterson from Huntington High in Charleston at the state tourney.  Saw Brett Nelson at the Charleston state tourney from St. Albans High School.

Yubrenal Isabelle from Bluefield played NFL Europe for a few years for Scotland after being drafted by New England.  I'm a little late to the party here I know.
