Richlands needs to bring back Dennis Vaught! 

I'm sure common names like Frye, Carlock, Ragsdale, Cummins, Turner, Robbins are there, but some to not be missed that many may forget are
Merle Gainer of the Bluefield Beavers, (my argument as Numero Uno, the Dean of HS football in the Appalachians, the Michaelangelo as far as I'm concerned and if you look at the coaching true that sprang from him and the success that the guys under him had not just locally, but in multiple states, he's my pick for number 1), but others like Chmara, Fred Simon, Joel Hicks of Pulaski, Lineburg of Radford were all solid, don't forget about Dave Ryder of Tazewell, Greg Mance of Richlands.
Most Unpopular historically, but the best On Field Tactical X's and O's guy to come out of the coverage area in my opinion.  Dennis Vaught.  He saw things on the field that 99.9 percent of his peers didn't see,  His in game and mid game adjustments were foolishly good.  But, things like smart decisions off the field, temper, leadership prevents him from being viewed in the elite and that's fair, but on the field wise, on a completely other level.  Just my opinions

Tom Rife has probably forgotten more about basketball than you or anyone else on this board currently knows and he can stIll out coach all you keyboard warriors. His assistants are more than capable, they both have an abundance of knowledge. They are lucky that he stepped up after the shitshow Aaron Lowe created. 
 
Also, trashing the coach is very much downing the players and serves no purpose unless you have an ax to grind due to the coaching changes. Aaron Lowe ain’t coming back, so the best thing you can do is throw your opinionated support behind the girls. 

FC usually does have 40+ kids out and has had around 50 at times.  FC is just very, very weird.  It's kind of like what was talked about on here, just hard to put your finger on regarding coaching changes and why they aren't better.  They have had some good teams and have had some major college talent like the RB that played at Virginia (Daniel Hamm) and Thomas who played at Tennessee and the kid at VMI recently.  They have often/regularly have 40-45 plus kids out, yet just a revolving door of coaches.  One person on here said the community/people are a bit difficult to work with.  Sounds like they are a bit fickle, clannish, etc, and this would have to explain the turnover because the location is nice.  Easy to Blacksburg or C-Ville, easy to Charlotte, Easy to West Va, New River close, lots of land/good property, and usually, a lot of kids with interest in football.  It's just weird.  On paper, it looks great and appears to be a a place where there is little to no coaching turnover with all of the above, but again, there is something up with their people.  Be it expectations or something just off.

Saw on Twitter that FC hired Robert “Spider” Thompson. Anyone know who that is? 

Fort is a baseball basketball school. It’s one thing to be number 2 at a school but when football is 3 it’s tough to attract a good coach much less keep one

13 Sophomores on Marion's team.  Coach Smith is doing a great job.  He could however use a top quality assistant coach to help him.....imo

I stand corrected on that assertion.  Marion played with a lot of heart, particularly on the defensive end, in a rivalry game.  The offense is ragged, but a solid defense carried them today.  Very happy for the Scarlet Hurricane; they have suffered.

Thanks for nothing Ralph! 🙄. Ridiculous to have a 10,000 capacity stadium limited to 250 spectators which includes band:cheerleaders. It needs to be a percentage of total capacity.  

Several Northeast Tennessee newspaper archives are now available online (including the Bristol Herald Courier) thru the newspapers.com website and I was able to use this to go back and search for missing games. So far I have found quite a handful that I missed when manually searching the papers. Abingdon, Marion, Grundy, Lebanon, Honaker, Damascus/Holston, Saltville, Glade Spring, Meadowview, Chilhowie, Rich Valley, Rural Retreat, East Stone Gap, Pennington, St. Charles and Richlands all have newly uncovered scores. I will only be updating my website www.fourseasonsfootball.com at this time so you can go there and look for new games. Most are from the 1920's thru the 1940's.

Why in the world would Akers get the job over Carroll...Akers takes a traditional winner and turns them into loser.   Carroll takes a traditional loser and turns them into winner.  Is Brent  “big boy” Roberts and Rat quillen making decisions for ft?That’s the only two dumb enough to hire Akers.  

247Sports dropped the 1st rankings for the 2021 Class and 2 of the areas own made the cut. Coming in with a lot of star power Isaiah Johnson is rated a 4* and the #7 Overall Nationally #1 CB & #1 in WV. Trenton Adkins comes in as a 4* #63 Nationally #3 ATH & #3 in VA. Great to see these guys having sucess early on and representing the area at a high level. Goes  to show you doesn't matter where you come from they will find you if you have to film,work ethic, character,and grades!!!

I hope they don't have to.  I personally am not a fan of home schooling but if parents want to keep their kids away from the perceived negative influences of public school that's fine but they shouldn't be allowed to pick and choose what aspects of the public school system they want their kids to participate in.   

Radford has improved as the season has went on, BUT they have nothing for The Fort and i know very little about Holston. We are better and can beat alot of teams but don't think we have anything for FC.   HOPE I'M WRONG THO!!!!
