I like Lee Highs Coach Carroll. He's a good one. Smart, very smart offensive guy. He's also classy off the field. I read where the Lee football team was collecting supplies and helping with Kentucky flood victims back in August. GC is much improved and playing good ball, but they have played somewhat to the level of their competition as Generallyspeaking wrote about. This game might be close. Lee can spread it around and open it up offensively and that's not GCs strong point defensively. Might be a close game down in Ben Hur. Lee High is obviously going to have a hellacious time trying to stop GCs run game, which is pretty darn good.
One more thing..GCs QB. Lots of QB talk this year with some good ones in the coverage area from Radford to Princeton, Tazewell, Ridgeview and Lebanon to Vhigh. The GC QB isn't D1 or anything like that, but that kid can sneaky good throw it well. He's a heady kid and rock solid high football IQ. I watched him against Union and Abingdon. The kid can throw the ball and is smooth, and GC can actually pass the ball far better than what many may think. Union and Abingdon can attest to that. GC hurt both of them some with the pass.

I mean I understand he is only in 8th grade but some of the videos he posted on twitter were of him getting pushed around by kids half his size. His size will get him offers because you cant teach that but he has a long way to go. I hope he develops and improves but I honestly hate school "offering" a kid in 8th grade that is way too soon. I feel like most of those kids never make it to Saturdays. That kid just needs to focus on high school ball have some fun, hit the weight room, and improve his craft.

No dog in the fight. I love both programs. I want to see Gate City get back to deep playoff runs and old form. I think they are heading that way also. I'm just saying, it will be very difficult for GC to replicate those 3 big plays like that again if Union and GC were to meet again this year in my opinion. As for that game, GC deserved to win. Big plays are a part of the game and the Devils made em at crucial times and that's a part of football.

If that happens, “Things No One Saw Coming? for $300, Alex?” Good luck to them! They are a program in transition which is good for everyone! Having quality teams in M7 & SWD helps everyone get better.

Jason reacted to 1inStripes in NFHS
They started this around February due to copyright laws. They could avoid it with a notification at the first of the broadcast but fail to do so. It also came along the same time of commercials before a broadcast. It does make watching games after they have been played almost unwatchable.

Anybody else notice that when there is no audio feed with the games on NFHS, that NFHS has some weird sound track of people talking, sounds like a kid yelling out stuff. Not sure why I noticed this, but I keep hearing the same garbled voices on each game that I watch on there saying the same garbled things, no matter what team I'm watching and it repeats every few minutes. Somebody please tell me that you have noticed this and that I do not belong in the mental institution.

RCs best starts to a season were:
6-0-1 1975 Was 6-0 before a tie with Honaker finishing 7-2-1 on the year.
5-0 1989 ( Appy ended the War Birds winning streak with an 8-7 win on a Saturday if I remember correctly.)
4-0 1988
3-0 1990 and 2004
1972 they dropped the opener to Pound before reeling off 6 straight finishing 7-3. This year they beat PV, and Pennington for the first time I believe.
1997 and 98 RC opened up 2-0 before dropping contests to Coeburn before finishing the regular season 9-1 each year.

I also don’t know how much of this you can put on Tarter. I think the talent pool has been drying up in Richlands for a while, Mance saw the writing on the wall and fled to save his own reputation.
I don’t know how many coaches could do a better job with the talent the Blues have. Tarter wins the games he should win, in his tenure I think the Blues have won every game they should have and outside of tonight, Graham, Abingdon, and Ridgeview (rs) they’ve played better than expected in games where they’re underdogs.

It was. All things being equal, GC would have had the same chance of winning that game as Richlands. Football is a game of momentum, and sometimes HS kids just can't overcome mistakes.
