Hey can anyone from Wythe confirm if their players are at home wearing masks tonight or are they out dancing?

Of course not. Not any credible evidence, anyways.

My doctor and all the evidence says there are microscopic blood clots from all 3 vaccines that form all over. The CDC doesn't count those because they don't show up on certain scans. None of them by themselves are damgerous but all together can be very dangerous. You go ahead and get the vaccine. No problem with me and I hope you do well. But I don't trust the CDC or the FDA because they manipulate the statistics with covid to pander to the vaccine companies.

Yeah, but Ivermectin has been around for a loooooooooooooooong time and nobody laughed at folks for using it then. The whole argument against it is rooted in mask and vax shaming. Japan, a first world country is now recommending it to all patients as a form of effective treatment. IMO, our concern should be centered on the how and why an effective treatment is being demonized, ostracized and in this case laughed at.
I am all for being making their own decisions regarding their health and well being, and fully understand why folks are skeptical of the vaccine. The target has moved so much over the past 18 months that to blindly trust the "science," is a sign of cognitive dissonance. Ivermectin has been around long enough that a lot of folks are at least of the persuasion that it will not cause any long term complications, that cannot be said about the Vaccine. (Just trying to keep it real here and put this in perspective, everyone that is skeptical of the Vax isn't a nut job)
Remember science is a process, it is not an institution nor is it an authority, no need to treat it like it is. Data is constantly changing.

BTW - Ivermectin won the Nobel Prize in 2015 for Medicine

I currently don't do the job.  May get back into it later.  After 18 seasons, 17 really enjoyable ones, I stepped aside in the 2019 season as my daughter is a cheerleader and in the band at Rye Cove. As much as I did enjoy officiating, Id rather be there for my girls as time is passing rather quickly.
If you enjoy the game, its a great way to stay connected to it.  I started officiating when in college as a way to stay involved and hopefully learn a little more before a teaching and coaching career.  Life takes some funny turns sometimes and I never became a teacher, now volunteer with athletics at Rye Cove in various capacities and help run a travel softball organization that has grown and became more successful than we ever imagined when myself and two others started it, plus my full time gig I was fortunate to land before I finished college.
We need more people to give it a try.  People who want to dig in an learn and put forth the necessary effort.  I have gear I would give someone if they wanted to start to offset some start up costs.  When I started we had around 110-120 officials in the AOA.  I believe a friend told me they may be around 77 or so currently officiating.  The average age of officials doesn't make you feel any better about the situation.

The risk of injury from playing football have been studied long-term and is extremely low. The affects of Covid on a young healthy individual is also extremely low. The vaccine was rushed and just received FDA approval with no long term studies. Personal health decisions should be made on an individual basis.

I understand that.  I respect a parent's personal decision to get vaxd or not get vaxd based on risk vs benefit.   Tons of factors in play from benefit, risk, religion, politics, personal choice, and a combination of all of those or none of those.  I'm just saying that the only way the shutdowns are avoided and in my opinion, the season saved, is by kids getting vaxd.  It will require that in my opinion for the season to be saved.  Again, not saying whether they should or shouldn't be vax'd or this or that.  That's a family's choice.  But, I still believe we go beyond a few shutdowns.  I think the High School Football season in Virginia will be cancelled by week 3, IF.....there isn't some massive push by High School Coaches and Families to get the vaccine.   The Covid numbers are sky rocketing and they are now as worse as they have ever been and there's no indication another strain, one possibly even more deadly or contagious than Delta will not be coming along.

Thing is most parents I've talked to are hesitant bout letting their teenage kids get the vaccine because of no longer than it has been out. A lot tell me that they are more concerned about what kinda of effects it could have down the road a couple of years.

Get a shot or no high school football wear a mask or no high school football. It seem like an easy pick to me. This is the greatest sport in the world and at the high school level the greatest teacher of life that these kids are ever going to have. I just want the season to happen and I’m sure everyone else is on the same page. So if I have to be uncomfortable in a mask no problem if I got a take a little shot sure “stop the spread” and let us move on with our life!

    sorry for the rant

Ok what abiout if you have had COVID and know 22 others who have had it and some decided to get vaccinated and some didn’t. If you read the study from Washington school of medicine in St. Louis and the Cleveland clinic. Both stating having COVID providing natural immunity as in having other viruses. Now onto getting shots, if you want to get them do so but examples close to me. My brother had Pfizer vaccine and 34 days after second shot contracted COVID and now has heart inflammation. He has been told under no circumstances any more shots. Another friend of mine had Moderna  shots and now is having heart fluctuations. He will not get anymore shots. My friend from work his mother also had Moderna shots and 2 months later in a secluded setting contracted COVID. Now my parents had Pfizer shots and haven’t had any issues at all. It’s not that clear cut and having COVID I’m not being selfish at all in not taking a vaccine shot.

Northam isn't on a ballot anywhere!!! The gubernatorial race in Virginia precludes the sitting Governor from seeking reelection. If you want to suggest Northam is pandering to his base to benefit the Democratic party, fine. Semantics possibly but facts matter. Not calling attention to misleading information is how we've ended up in this mess considering everybody has a voice with social media now.
I'm not even suggesting there not be a football season. But the fact we're even having this conversation is directly attributable to those selfish people among us who refuse to be vaccinated. That isn't the Governor's fault in the least. I would say the same thing if the sitting Governor represented the Republican party. Those who refuse the vaccine are causing this situation to be far worse than it has to be!!!  It may not be a cure, but it has proven to prevent hospitalization and death. Thus, reducing the stress on an already taxed healthcare system. If you (or anyone else) refuse to get vaccinated, you lose any credibility when blaming others for another shut-down.

Does this make absolutely no sense because you see it from the "opposite political viewpoint?" He has his party on lockdown no matter what he does; now he wants to appease SWVa by allowing football to go on and maybe he can pick up some votes for allowing football.  You don't honestly think he cares one way or the other about COVID right now do you? He's just trying to figure out what helps him win the election.

This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever! I guarantee more people in the state see this from the opposite political viewpoint as your post would indicate, myself included.

It’s election year for the governor so it would be political suicide for him if he shuts it down…they’ll play…he’ll claim he kept everything open for the kids, then when the elections over all bets are off, sorry basketball
