Disagree 100 percent. The grape flavor is something to avoid, but the cherry flavor is something I was raised on.  Other than Diabetes, Heart Disease, a few rotten teeth, and a near death experience at a religious gathering in a jungle in South America, I've had no issues with it and I love the taste

The Bulldogs and G-Men "plan" on playing this spring. I hope it holds up for all of em including the ones in VA planning on spring, and the Beavers and WV schools planning for this fall.

I set on the 35 yd line and watched it live. Richlands gashed em on the ground. Entire field wasn't muddy. Even in the parts with intact grass, Richland's won those battles also.
Will echo this fact about the 93 Blues since it was mentioned. They paid severely for 92. The 93 team started 0 and 2 with a loss to Lebanon in game 1 with  a game they dominated, but had 7 turnovers. The next game against P. Valley, they lost a close game in which they turned over 5 times, and had 3 inside the P. Valley 15 yard line. I think P. Valley might have won the state title that year. Richland's outplayed em. I was at both of those games and worked in Richland's from 91-95. Richland's other loss was to Christiansburg in a game in which Richland's again turned over 5 times. Richlands had got the turnovers in control by game 10 and was roaring. In the three losses for the 7-3 record, they totalled 17 turnovers. Graham in 93 was absolutely impressive, but Richlands beat us. Graham lost to an out of this world Jefferson Forest Anthony Poindexter led team in the state semis that was equal to an Appo team of recent or Gretna teams of the mid 2000s.
Ask the older generations in Richlands that truly know football. So many will tell you about the 93 team by seasons end. I watched 92 and 93 teams play about 7 times each. I'm telling you what many of the older Blues folks would......the 93 team by regular seasons end was equally as good as the 92 team and maybe better.  Looking back on history, we can only see 7-3 for 1993, but people don't know the details of the 3 losses. If we will never know what would have happened in 92 without illegal cleats, we also can't assume we know that Richlands would not have won it in 93, if allowed to make the playoffs. I would have loved their chances in 93 with that run game and defense. Nobody stopped em on the ground all year long.
One other sidenote.  On 1992, Richlands beat Salem by 10. Richlands beat Orange County in the state title game by 9. Just saying...

    In all honesty...

Lack of discipline led to several penalties and a couple of turnovers in the 4Q sealed Fort's fate.  Graham's "William's factor" tried to give the game back to Fort by throwing the ball, leading 25-22 with 2:30 left in the game...tossed an INT that gave Fort another chance.  Only thing that saved Graham was another Fort turnover.

Normally, I'd just hit the ban button.  However, since its more fun to keep you around when your team loses to Graham, I'll let you stick around for a while...I enjoy watching you squirm.

But really, if your team lost to Graham this year, yeh, they suck...

As they say on the 'net, Graham pwns Fort Chiswell...

Mr Atwell, give me time to get out of the stadium for goodness sakes. Great win for Graham. I do not think FC sucks because they lost to Graham. Perhaps you should have more faith in your team my friend and.most important and have more faith in your coach and.spend.less.time bashing your players and coaches. Are you the Thanksgiving grandma visiting church going Christian guy.....or are you the guy that makes statements like ",s'it kicked your team" and your "team sucks.",For a moderator, that is just ....weird. Congrats to Graham and for you, that is the real LOL.

Going to go out on a limb and make a prediction.  This game will be within 10 points.  I will go 35-31 in favor of Giles.  Graham has a head coaching problem in my opinion only, not a talent problem. When you have issues with the culture of a program (influenced and greatly effected for better or worse by the head coach of any program) then a team can use this positive culture-coaching to overcome some lack of talent issues, or a team can use this to undercut some solid talent issues.   But, every so often, great talent can rear its ugly head for one given game and overcome a cultural problem like the one for the G-men.  The Pioneers felt this all to well last year again the G-men.

So much for 1 and 9 after the loss of "all the players" from last year's team. Heck, I think the Fort might just be going playoffing and might just go ahead and win the district.

Anyone know if the G=MEN get in the dance?  I know, they may not go far in the playoffs or whatever.  I'm not asking as to how far they go or how far they don't go in the playoffs, I am simply asking if the make it with what is going to be a 5-5 record, and yes, they will beat Narrows and yes, they will lose to FC, so they will be 5 and 5.

Galax is a solid team, but I have to tell you, they actually did Not give FC a great game.  FC completely took it to them and they could not stop FC's offensive line from blowing them 7 yards off the ball.  Galax also played FC at home and got throttled.  I agree that Galax is solid and they are one heck of a team with losses coming to a close one with Giles and losing to Altavista who ranks 2nd in Virginia in Div 1.  The Altavista score was similar to the FC score (very close) regarding margin of victory for Altavista over Galax and Fort Chiswell over Galax, but the Altavista game was much closer than the score indicated and the FC game was actually worse than the score indicated.

BandanaVTDavis4321 got a reaction from JodyB in great expectations from our teams
Disagree with you and actually believe you are 100% wrong and that your way of thinking is one of the reasons our kids are failing across the country when looking at most statistical measures of success and happiness.  Drug use, teen pregnancy rates, teen dropout rates, teenage crime, jobless rates among recent graduates, etc.....most measure show a generation that is in serious trouble when comparing this generation to historic generations.  One of the reasons for that in my opinion is your attitude.  Actually MORE pressure needs to be put on kids, not less.  Kids in this generation are in trouble because of the old cliche, "everybody gets a trophy" etc.  To truly summarize it....this generation isn't allowed to deal with anxiety, stress, or major challenging issues that require initiative at a young age.  In stead, we teach them to take a pill before learning the coping mechanisms of how to deal with stress and what later becomes.......life.  Therefore, I respect agree with your concern about these young men and I truly mean that, but I disagree 100% in your approach.  There is little to zero pressure.  In Africa, many kids have nothing to eat and have 1 parent who dies of AIDS and one of who is about to die.  In Afghanistan, one kid lost his brother to a landmine and his father is putting pressure on him to strap a missile to himself and blow himself and others up to get revenge.  In parts of Asia, a 12 year old girl is worried about her fathers recent decision to prostitute her.  See my point?  Worrying about "performing" in a High School Football isn't stress when we compare it to what is true stress and truly concerning.

BandanaVTDavis4321 got a reaction from robtom in With the Galax-Graham game, it's pretty clear how good F. Chiswell is
And this will give Graham fans an idea of just how good Fort Chiswell is.  They completely manhandled Galax.  The G-Men can come back and make this closer with Galax, but this will definitely give Graham and idea of what lies ahead when playing on the road at Fort Chiswell.  The score or beating may equal that of the Bluefield game.  It will simply get out of hand early and be over by the end of the first quarter.  FC also won on the road at Galax, well they didn't win, they stomped them on the road.  Galax did this to Graham in Bluefield.  Graham will finish its season at 5-5 with wins coming against Narrows and Bland, and a loss at Fort Chiswell that may exceed 35 or 40 points.  If you think Galax is good (and they are) you haven't seen nothing yet.  The team over there at the 77/81 juction is a totally different beast.
