Okay very rarely beat themselves lol. No one is perfect hah. 
Appomattox seems to be extremely well disciplined and knows their schemes and execution 100% for each game, and seems like you guys get at least one TD per game by outscheming the opponent, which is directly tied to coaching. You guys have a great staff all around it seems.

Appo fans were great an very respectful.  Their coach showed the Richlands fans that he had respect for their program and the fact that they traveled so well.  Top notch sportsmanship, I'll be pulling for them also.

Smith may be the best HC in 2A. His teams are successful at the highest level year after year and his team's never beat themselves. I think that's the best accolade you could give a coach, that his team's always show up and never beat themselves.

Appomattox’s fans were top notch. And I have all the respect in the world for their coach. After the Richlands @ Appo quarterfinal — he walked all the way across the field to our fence and clapped to our fans and thanked us for coming and for have what he called “the best atmosphere he’s ever seen in high school.” You could tell it was genuine, too. 
 
I’m 100% pulling for Appo tomorrow. 

That's a shame!  Not to toot my own horn but a family from Central Lunenburg left their headlights on during the 2011 state semifinal at Galax.  Not only did my wife and I jump start their car, we bought them dinner at The Smokehouse to give the battery time to charge and make sure it held a charge. 
Most things in life are bigger than football.  It's just a game.  One played by 16 year old kids at the high school level at that!  Often, those 16 year old kids are more mature than the 46 year old parents in the stands.

Watching film they look nothing like you guys.  Graham was talented big time.

I have watched some people on those feeds comment some silly bologna. One guy once said that Doug Smith should be considered greatest coach of all time. Okay. If he is still there 20-30 years down the road and wins 3 state championships every 5 year period then yes, he would be. 
 
A year back I saw one guy say the refs were screwing them out of the game in a game Appo was winning in a blowout. 🤦‍♂️
 
I don’t have a problem with Appomattox. They have a great thing going on over there. But some of the people I see have no idea how football actually works. 

Was hard to watch that FB stream. Cheryl sit next to some of the worst fans ive ever heard. The commentator guy was probably worse. So many high school fans and even broadcasters dont know jack about football.

Appo has always played good disciplined football. Rarely ever commit a penalty or turn the ball over. 

If you’re in to that kind of thing,say a prayer for the kid from PH. Airlifted from Emory with a devastating lower body injury. 

I agree! They could have won. Appo came to play and it showed. 

Graham beat themselves. Pretty evenly matched with Appo but you can’t shoot yourself in foot and expect to win. Good luck to Appo! They played well!

A lot of athletes running around on the field for appo. Graham looked sluggish and couldn't capitalize on opportunities. Credit to Appomattox. They played like a determined, focused and mature team. Appo defense did an outstanding job of nullifying Lester's legs. Great  defensive scheme. GMEN have represented SWVA well. Proud of the coaches and players.

Boy graham got cheated out of one this year. 

No worries. I’m grateful for you guys streaming it for us. That’s not an easy task to take on. I know one person doesn’t represent the entire fan base. And yeah there may have been a few late hits coming in which I don't condone. Good luck at state though.

Good afternoon, We are expecting a very large crowd tomorrow, so I wanted to let you know that ACHS will be offering satellite parking and a free shuttle bus to and from the game on Saturday.  There will be two satellite parking locations.  The first will be at Appomattox Elementary School (176 Kids Place).  Once the parking lot at Appomattox Elementary is filled, the second location will be at Appomattox Primary School (185 Learning Lane).  The shuttle will start bringing people to the game around 12:30 p.m. and will continue to shuttle people to the game until approximately 2:30 p.m., or later if needed.   The shuttle will begin to bring people back to the satellite parking locations about the beginning of the 4th quarter of the game and will continue until approximately one-half hour after the game is completed or later if needed.  
Also, since this is a state-level game any child under the age of 7 will need a ticket.  Children 6 and under are free with a paid adult ticket.
 
Correction to this email. Any child age 7 and up must purchase a ticket.

There's no doubt in my mind they have been preparing to stop them. I'm sure D. Palmer has a little extra incentive to stop them as well. 
I just hope Graham's fans show up. It's going to be a long haul. Going to need the same fans that showed up to Union this year and last year to make the trip. Sometimes I think a good Methodist church choir is louder than Graham fans.

I have no problem with Appo other than the dancing around and stuff like that...the 4 times Giles & Appomattox have played the best team won all 4 times.
I personally don't care who wins this game...and I don't root for region teams just because they are in the same region as Giles...just hope it's a good game for people to watch at the game

I know the team and Appomattox as a whole prayed for the cheerleader that year.  Pretty sure we had a moment of silence for her at our next game. 
You are correct that teams should get at least a portion of the gate for these games.

I'm a parent of a player on the team (had two but one graduated last year) and I can say that I loved the streaming for the fact that my boys grandparents in PA and FL could tune in a see their grand kids play football on Friday night.  I'll bet between them, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends of the family my boys had 2 dozen folks watching those games. 
Now what I hated about the streaming was that there was "able body" folks sitting in restaurants in Appomattox or having friends to their homes on Friday nights to watch the game.  That left a lot of empty seats in the bleachers, seats that the kids looked up and saw empty. Sure there are those in Appo with health issues or just older folks that can't take the cold this time of year.  LOVE the streaming for them.  But even Coach Smith (who I think most folks them know of him have respect for) has even asked that people come out to the game to support the kids. 
 
In saying all that.  Those folks from Graham, please enjoy the live stream and feel free to stay home.  😀😀
