True, but with the way that game was going, I think RV still would have pulled it out. Once they got Central’s linebackers moving their were receivers open all over the field.  Hopefully in the off-season, O’Quinn can go to a QB camp and get coaxed up there.  The next 2 years could be something at RV. With a little luck, that could start Saturday.

It was in the first half because Central felt the need to go for it on 4th and goal a couple of times outside the 5. Those coaching decisions probably cost them the first game. 

Friday at 7 pm is what the radio said for what it’s worth.

Central and Ridgeview are 2 of the worst designed stadiums around here!

I watched this on NFHS and it was a crazy game. First of all hats off to both teams. Neither one quit. I know most (including me) thought Ridgeview would win this game, but how it turned out I feel like this a huge win for the program. 
In the game, both offenses were able to get to the red zone, but both struggled.   RV only scored on 2of 4 trips. Richlands’ had 5 field goals on their trips. Webb hit a big run in the 2nd quarter and the kickoff return late in the 4th. 
Rv just had no consistent running game which will probably cost them next week, but the kids need to enjoy this one. 

High school basketball needs this. I watched some games on NFHS last winter and it was amazing how teams hold the ball. 35 seconds is more than enough time.

I see this at a lot of games around here for some reason. A player shouldn’t have more than a couple or voices telling them what to do on the field. The big thing Turner needs to fix is bringing the QB to the sideline every play. That’s would fix most of your time management issues. Rick Mullins was a great coach, but that always annoyed me because it was worth at least 1 time out a half every game.

True! Even though I’m always surprised when Va High isn’t any better. Just seems like they should be a lot better at football. I know it’s like the old JJ Kelly when it comes to baseball, but always surprises me.

I think some parents and schools have spent a little money on speed training for players.  It has definitely improved the last few years around here.

My only complaint is they should have put the track around the practice fields between the school and football stadium. 

With the way the rules are in football now, I don’t understand why everyone isn’t running some type of spread offense. The only times you shouldn’t is if you have a team with limited athletes. The single a teams around here will have too much and match just because of depth. But at 2a and above, there is absolutely no reason not to. Union should be 50/50 run pass. Rv more like 75/25 pass/run. 
As good as I think they are, Central will limit itself with the wing t.
