  1. I'm closing this thread with a final thought...

The rest of the Mountain 7 fans are correct...Union fans are the biggest bunch of crybabies in this end of VA, not to mention the rudest bunch at games.

It's really sad that some of you take this so seriously. I suggest you get help or stop going to the games because there is way more in life to be bitching over than a penalty or two.

    Sorry about that...rant over...

Losing Hairston will hurt Bluefield but I can’t see Richlands beating them. Bluefield’s record is deceiving. They may be 0-4 but they’ve only lost those four games by a combined total of 16. Each game could have swung the other way easily.

Bluefield lost to Princeton by 21...

    I'm so confused now.

Is Graham bad? Is Union Bad? Are officials Good or Bad? Are we both Bad? Are we both good? Are we friends now? This board is like watching the Blair Witch (look it up), all over the place and may cause motion sickness.

    😄😁🤬💩💪🙌💣

Both teams are good...officiating is suspect all over.  Always friendly rivals but always respect one another.  I don't believe in witches, except for my wife (born on Halloween) and I took a double shot of Dramamine...or bourbon...not sure which...

Looks as if an indoor sports complex is coming to Tazewell at the old McCann's auto lot.  Looking at the plans, it appears that there will be 6 basketball courts, an indoor track (great news for county schools and their indoor track teams).  Also, possibly a soccer field and batting cages (didn't see that in the diagrams, but it has been talked about).  This will be great for the local economy.  It could host AAU and regional indoor track and field events.  A lot of potential for growth and should be a positive for the local economy there in Tazewell.  Could spawn a new hotel or two / restaurants.  Can't wait to see how this project develops.  There are some good things happening in our area, with the salmon farm, the housing materials plant in Bluefield and still the possibility of a hydro-electric facility.  Now, if we could just get something to move into the Bluestone.  That would be a great site for out-door recreation, if you ask me... With all of the interest in 4-wheeling, there could be some camping sites, RV park,  cabins, zip-lines, a restaurant or two with axe throwing or cornhole,  general store, etc... it could be turned into a four wheeler retreat if they put in some riding trails, hiking trails, putt-putt, go-cart track a swimming pool / water park.  The locals would eat that up, much less travelers.  I would market it out to investors as a potential recreational retreat.  I believe that's the route the county should take with that land up there.

Putting in disc golf course at Bluestone...that'll draw in more things.  Also, someone just opened a disc golf shop not far from there just west of the Stop-In on 460.  To be honest, I am a bit excited by both.  As long as they keep the 4-wheelers out...they do nothing but destroy the environment in their vicinity. Besides, there are more than enough trails in Pocahontas and over the line into WV.  Town of Bluefield already owns two swimming pools, neither of which get used to their full extent.

As for the ISC at the McCann lot...all's shitz and giggles until the next big rain event that puts that lot 3 feet under water.  I can't see anyone wasting money like that, not even Tazewell County.

UVA wise could have a helluva team if  they could keep the players there for 4 years.  Every year they just have half a team of freshman so apparently they’re quitting or transferring

I'd leave Wise too if I were them...<ducks>....LOL

Graham only had 1 personal foul for a late hit or similar infraction and it was a very questionable call on the Bluefield sidelines. They had a PF for a chop block as well. Graham's main penalty issue is holding.

Wasn't there also offsetting unsportsmanlike penalty???

IMO, Double Gates in Bluefield VA across from Graham High School is tough to beat. It's a legendary hotdog/history with it, and I miss the series with Graham more for the trips to Double Gates when we play in Bluefield.  Of Course, Bluefield is 20 minutes before Tazewell,  but worth eating early if looking for hotdogs.

They stop serving lunch at 2 PM...

Final.  Riverheads 4 TD's to Greenbrier East's 1 TD's in the first half, then backups/JV played the 2nd half.  Complete domination over what is supposed to be a pretty good football team this year that was 8-2 in regular season, and returns 3/4ths of their starters and key players.

Greenbrier East won't win 5 games this year unless ol' Jimmy has been out recruiting like he did for basketball...

Loris with an impressive performance against Green Sea, leads 24-0 in the early 4th qtr over a very, very good football team.  If you know about football in the North Myrtle/Northwest Horry County area and follow scores over the years, then this is major improvement for Loris.  As in.....significant.

Loris is AAA is SC, Green Sea-Floyds is Class A.  About 500 student difference in enrollment too.

When the SWD broke up in 1986 there was something of a scramble to fill non-district schedules again and Richlands wound up scheduling home and home series against a couple of Roanoke area schools (Northside and Lord Botetourt).  There were some raised eyebrows but I don't remember a lot of outright complaining about it.  Several families (including mine) made something of a getaway out of the trip for the Northside game -- which coincided with Labor Day weekend.

A lot of Liberty-Bedford teams schedule a geographic outlier as part of their non-district schedule.  But then again Bedford is pretty centrally located and you can hit a lot of interesting options within a 2-3 hour drive of here.

Probably not much benefit to Richlands to venture very broadly now unless they absolutely had to.  But that has been the case at various times in the school's football playing history.

Didn't Richlands play some school from Indiana in the late 80s/early 90s???
