Delusional. Be careful what you wish for, it can get much worse. You all ever stop and look at past "great" programs and where they are now? The man is averaging around nine wins a year. He's from our community and relates to our kids better than anyone else we could get in here. We're not more than eight months removed from him winning the Region D Title with a team most of you all on here said was the worst team in school history! From a consistency stand point, that program is the best in the area. They have made the playoffs every year the school has been open and have won at least one playoff game for ten consecutive seasons. And some of you all want to fire the coach?

You came to a Union game and didn’t stand with me? I’m hurt, we could’ve debated whether or not illegal touching occurred. FWIW, I’ve watched the film and still can’t tell if it was a handoff or “pass”.

Union is 7-2, likely to be 8-2 and is about to win the district, again. Personally, I think it’s the best coaching job Travis has done to this point in his career. Kudos to the whole staff and the players for getting to this point. Program is averaging like nine wins a season. My take: If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

I’m guessing tonight’s results have opened things up a bit. Given that everyone in the region has at least one loss with two weeks to play, could someone (VHSL Helper) breakdown some scenarios?

I’ve always wondered why they wait til all teams are eliminated. At the college level, all-conference teams are announced prior to the start of conference tournaments. Seems to me they would get more press that way as opposed to announcing the teams when everyone is in basketball mode.

I understand that but you and the committee are taking strength and winning percentage to mean the same thing when that wording is different on different tiebreakers. At the least, it's poorly worded. It's left it open for controversy which is evidenced by the fact they had to have this meeting.

It all comes down to how you define strength. I'm sure Battle argued 0-2 against Union was "stronger" than Central's 0-3.
To me, it's impossible to say winning percentage is what is implied on tiebreaker two when the actual verbiage is used on tiebreaker three.

Anytime you leave it up to a committee it's a mess. We've seen numerous odd occurrences through the years. This stuff really should be laid out for everyone to see like football is. I feel like these committees make up their own rules as it goes.

For what it's worth, I think Central should be the three seed by common sense on the Lebanon deal but, by how the rules are, it's impossible for them to be the two seed if you follow the rules.

It's sad for everyone involved that it's literally 24 hours before postseason play begins and the seeds aren't finalized.

Everybody in our tournament at UVa-Wise is guaranteed three games unless you have a bye and lose your first game.

Every game of the tournament can be heard live on FM - 92.1 WDIC or www.wdicradio.com

We try to make this better every year and feel we have a great group of teams this season and I'm hopeful it will be our most competitive tournament yet while providing local youths with the opportunity to play in the nicest arena in SWVA (I'm biased but, I believe it's true).

We're blessed to have the support of Grand Home Furnishings and WDIC for our event this year. If you attend please post feedback here, positive and negative. I still read the forum and we want to do everything possible moving forward to make our event the best in SWVA.

I attempted to upload the complete bracket, including consolation bracket but only images are allowed. Attached is a screen shot, it's the best I can do.

    Merry Christmas to you all.

Its on Westwood Road just down the street from the high school.

    Easiest way to get there...

I-81 to Winchester.  Take Rt. 7/Harry Byrd Hwy east toward Berryville.  Take the first Berryville exit (Rt. 7 Business).  At the roundabout, take a right onto Westwood Rd/Rt. 636.  The stadium will be on the right beside DG Cooley Elementary School.
