In regards to the Alpha, the first round was held last night... as you might expect all three local teams got beat.  Hampton by 33, Gate City by 51 and D-B by only 5 but Perry County Central wasn't all that either to be honest.

I didn't see any of the Jonesboro and Hampton game, but I heard Jonesboro looked better than Hoover.  Will probably be Jonesboro and Winter Haven in the finals.

I will be shocked if ANY of the local teams play within 20 points of their opening round competition next week at Arby's.

I guess Jonesboro wasn't better than Hoover after all.  Hoover beat them pretty handily.

It's Hoover vs. Winter Haven in the finals.  Winter Haven destroyed Perry Central as I imagined they would since Perry barely beat a below average D-B team.

D-B beat Westside in an upset and will play Hampton today who beat Gate City yesterday.

7th place:  Westside vs. Gate City

5th place:  Dobyns-Bennett vs. Hampton

3rd place:  Perry County Central vs. Jonesboro

Championship:  Winter Haven vs. Hoover

Congratulations G-Dub. Easily one of the biggest upsets in the history of the Arby's. Unbelievable. I'd say anyone playing the Arby's bracket pool has a busted bracket now.

I think the G-Dub enrollment is off because don't you have to have less than 450 to be single A?

Listening to the Dorman broadcast was entertaining. George WY-th. Smoky Mountains. Also them saying “this isn’t the typical team Dorman would lose to.  We are bigger and more athletic on each position on the floor. I can’t believe it. We would normally blow a team out like this one.”

GW adm number for VHSL alignment was 353, so that's prob correct.  No hard number anymore for class 1, which is crazy.  GW only has two students less than the smallest class 2 school....not as bad as Grayson, who's adm is larger than five class 2 schools.

Well with Mentor up 23 at the half, it's safe to say Mentor and G-Dub will meet in Thursday's first quarterfinal.

Going to be a blast to watch.

The Longhorns are legit and are the front runner for heavy betting favorite to get to game 30 on Saturday for the Arby's title.

They'll face Harlan County in quarterfinal 2 on Thursday.

Greene Devils fall to the losers bracket and will face Oak Ridge on Thursday morning.

Red Rebels led 46-19 when I left mid third quarter.

Panthers outscored Murvil 39-6 the remainder of the game to pull off one of the most improbable victories in Arby's History.

To put this in perspective, the Red Rebels were 3 points away from the running clock being implemented for the reminder of the game. Just absolutely unbelievable.

Maryville will play Dobyns-Bennett in the final game of tomorrow's early session in what could be a preview of a TSSAA 4A sweet 16 matchup later down the road. 

Imhotep will play Mater Lakes in tomorrow nights quarterfinal four.

Yeah I would’ve left early and missed it too.  Like I did a few years back when Richlands was beating Union somewhere around 28-0 and of course I leave and they come back
