  2. If Central has to rely on the run, they won't be able to beat Union.

  3. Our first home game as a Bear family did not disappoint. Union was strong and had a chance to put plenty more points on the board. But football happens and 16-7 is what we got. Seen a lot of good sportsmanship from both teams. Even the richlands kid that hit Owens after the whistle blew was helping people up and checked on turner after his injury. Fans afterward were polite as well. Great atmosphere Now to address the prick calling my son and his teammates SOB's...Big man. Create a new account to hide behind and talk about kids. If the Bears were gearing up outside the stadium away from the flag and everyone's attention, get over it. Not any different than if they were in a locker room. Maybe you should worry about yourself and focus on the flag during the NA. My guess is you sat down in your kapernick jersey. Disappear pal. You're not wanted here haha.

    Giles @ Graham

I agree winger, Beidleman and Ratcliffe need to be in the back field. I'm sure Willams and staff will realize that and make the change.

  7. Phil Lee is a VERY boring announcer. Sounds like he's mumbling from a coma.

    Exactly. Sour grapes IMO

  9. Spot on, GMen need huge improvements on lines especially during big games, doesn't really matter when you play a weak team but fix it before the Giles, Richlands, etc. or it makes for a long night.

  10. Where on earth is this salt coming from? No reasonable person would have Central beating Union anyway.

Union is the class of the region and in my opinion will be a strong contender to reach the state title game. Central would have to play flawless football to have a shot but the Warriors are dangerous enough to pull the upset if Union has an off night

3-2 is an optimistic outcome for the first 5 games for the Blues. If they get a few breaks (key turnovers) they could do better. As they say speed kills and the opponents in the next four games will have speed in abundance.

    Union and Richlands

I said over on Preps that Richlands didn't look what they "should have" in many fans view, and GC is improved, certainly beyond what I thought they were.

  14. Got to agree about Richlands bathroom. Last time I was in the men's room one of the commode's didn't have a stall around it. Would absolutely hate needing to really make number 2 and that be my only option. lol

  15. I'll choose three: (3) Gate City- two words train horn. Not sure if it's still there. Don't wanna go back to find out. Coeburn-GC 2011 was enough for me. (2) JIB - nuff said. (1) Wise Central- seating and field not so bad. The fact that entering and leaving I sat in 2 hours round trip of traffic. Hopefully gets better with time. Honorable Mention: Twin springs, Castlewood, and Ralph Cummins at Clintwood.

  16. LMAO about Richlands... :) As I mentioned on the basketball thread, never got to make that trip to Pocahontas back in the Haysi days. One of these days when I am around Bluefield, I am going to take a drive out of the way down to Pocy just to see what I can see. My five worst: 1. Galax (sorry sixcat) -- Terrible seats home/away, long concession lines because there's not enough of them 2. The stadiums of the Cumberland District with the exception of Eastside and Thomas Walker -- J. I. Burton = sucks, Twin Springs = middle of nowhere, no cell signal, sucks, Castlewood = meh, Rye Cove = see Twin Springs, plus cow pasture and rock quarry field, Ervinton (now defunct) = horrible 3. Wise Central -- Not nearly enough seating to be a new stadium. Parking is abysmal. Get there at least 2 hours before kickoff or be faced with having to walk up the steep hill from the Walmart. 4. Elkhorn City, Kentucky (now defunct consolidated to form East Ridge) -- A softball/football field. Seemed like half of the field was made up of sand. Never have the words "Three yards and a cloud of dust" been more truer 5. Holston -- Not really a bad stadium or seating, but severe drainage issues. Shouldn't have to wade across a small lake to get to your seat.

  17. Bluefield can hire me to recruit the locals. I go to games on Fridays and I'll consult all of you for your opinions. Can't lose
