What made Tazewell so good last season was their line play you can have all the skill you want if you suck up front you will not beat good teams. The fact that they havnt had a jv team in 3 season has killed there development up front IMO. Those big boys are gonna have to grow up quick

They are scrimmaging Independence high school at Independence on August 14 at 11:am. Do not anything about their second scrimmage yet.

Mt Airy will be there as well

That's an excellent, excellent program. Damn shame it's needed but it's great to see the community step up and help the kids with what they need.

I have heard the same thing. I have typed and deleted my response a couple of times. Its been a while since GMan dropped the hammer on someone and I didn't want it to be me😂 Both kids are great competitors. I would have liked to seen Jared at QB. He's a senior, very smart, athletic, leader, etc. I guess this why I'm on here typing and not coaching!!

Carter will get the start at QB for Tazewell, Mullins may play slot some but will primarily be defense. For QB, this is where experience needs to take over, especially with the schedule this year. The test will come with a young Carter. The line lost a lot of experience, but could still possibly hold their own. I think Tazewell will be competitive but will struggle against the well coached teams.

I hope they leave him alone and give him a little time.
