Sadly.

I am hearing some bad things about Zac. Hope they are wrong. 

I think Union has the ability to be really good for the next couple years.  They just havent quite pieced it together this year.  Quite a bit of young talent.

Riverheads is always miraculously just below the 2A threshold. 

GC boys run ZERO offense. Its run around and chuck a shot up.  No one looks for the ball at all....its all Zac and Brad dribbling around.  And why Coach doesnt run a 2-3 zone on D is still mind blowing.  Battle eat GC alive with backdoor cuts, give and go, and pick and roll. Literally layup after layup right through the middle and GC made no changes.  Battle has no size at all and scored at will in the paint.  Going to zone and stuffing the paint full made too much sense. Would allow for everyone to be in position to rebound too....which also makes too much sense.  But im just a bleacher coach and probably dont know what I'm talking about.

I'm a firm believer in making a few extra passes to get a good open look and alot less dribbling.  GC has maybe 2 or 3 good possessions a game that makes you scratch your head and wonder where in the world that offense is the rest of the game.  However, I'm also aware with Brad and Zac that alot of their game revolves around the 3 ball.  It's like a blitz.....if that's what makes the wheels spin your gonna live and die by it.  Seemed like Union is dependent on the 3 ball alot as well.  

My assumption would be hes gonna have to drop some major points in 3 or 4 games (as if 40 pts isnt major) because Zac is gonna play 2-3 games less than Mac did last year.  Title game isnt happening. 

GC couldn't beat DB by enough points for me to be satisfied haha However, I'll still take a 1 pt win.   Wish GC had got to play them last year.

The reffing as a whole is pretty bad....everyone sees it. Theres a few that are a cut above the rest and hats off to those.  But here lately I do alot of head shaking and that's about it....try to limit my griping.  Mainly because I realize theres no way in hell I'd do what they do for what they make to do it.  So I just sit back and hope that they can weed out the calls and get them right by committee.  

TJ is the administration now at Central if I am not mistaken after Collins retired in September.  That being said, I really found no fault with the sign.  Those who were offended are getting awfully soft.  It was harmless and the response at the end of the game was appropriate.  It should all be considered good fun IMO.

I know alot of sensitive fans would disagree......but I for one didnt mind the Christmas sign at all.  It's just trash talk between kids that are having fun and that's been going on since theres been rivalries in sports.  I've seen far worse on signs.....some of the stuff I used to see on signs at the GC vs PV or GC vs Graham football games in the 90s would make a sailor blush.  Snowflakes now just get butthurt way too easily.  Was surprised at the number of whiney comments about that sign I seen on social media.   I'm all for the trash talk and such....just as long as it doenst go too far on the court and no one gets hurt. 
I will never miss a Central vs GC game if I can help it.  I've come to expect a total chit-storm everytime.... and so far it hasn't disappointed. It's the only game every year I can count on seeing something completely out of the ordinary. 

The first scrum I cant remember what player for GC got fouled but he got whacked and was on the floor and the boy from Wise that fouled him was tangled up with him but didnt fall.  He hovered over him and either mouthed off or made contact with him again while he was down.   It happened on the opposite end of the court from me so it was hard for me to see it all really good.  But Ervin  went to help out his teammate really quick and got up in some faces along with another player or two.   
 
The 2nd scrum that happened on my end is the one that caused the assistant coaches from Wise to hit the court along with several of their players that were on the bench.   Had fans walking behind the score table coming towards Scotty that had to be escorted back to their seats.  I think Scotty and McAmis got into it at some point during that mess but couldnt tell for everything that was unfolding at once.  Then GC team had to be escorted to the locker room at halftime. 
Honest to goodness....it was like Jerry Springer......but wayyyyyyy better. As long as no one legitimately gets hurt I live for these games.  Never know what your gonna see haha

GC has Wise Central tomorrow night. 

Congrats to Jeremy!  Unless I misunderstood, Reed is to be the DC?  Someone correct me on that if I'm wrong.   Not sure about the rest of the staff.  I think GC fans will be more patient in getting things turned around with Jeremy being the Coach.  Its gonna take quite a few years IMO to get the program headed in the right direction, but there should be a noticable difference in a year or so.  Not necessarily in just wins and losses, but fundamentals and also in the attitudes of the players.  The kids will enjoy playing for Housey and he truly cares about the kids. It will be noticeable.  There wont be a lack of enthusiasm from him that can be assured.  I'm sure the folks at Rye Cove seen the same thing from him while he was there.  

Thankfully football is finally over.
We can now focus our full attention back on Mac without distractions.

Congrats to Jeremy!  Unless I misunderstood, Reed is to be the DC?  Someone correct me on that if I'm wrong.   Not sure about the rest of the staff.  I think GC fans will be more patient in getting things turned around with Jeremy being the Coach.  Its gonna take quite a few years IMO to get the program headed in the right direction, but there should be a noticable difference in a year or so.  Not necessarily in just wins and losses, but fundamentals and also in the attitudes of the players.  The kids will enjoy playing for Housey and he truly cares about the kids. It will be noticeable.  There wont be a lack of enthusiasm from him that can be assured.  I'm sure the folks at Rye Cove seen the same thing from him while he was there.

I say when the final buzzer sounds, the Gmen will be shining like a diamond in a goats ass!  Goochland will make a game if it first a quarter or so.....then the flood gates break free.  Cam will go off and the State Title will reside again in SWVA.  Good luck fellas.  Hope you saved some room for dessert after that trouncing of Radford.
