Also. Every coach that I have EVER read about that interupted their coaching responsibilities to serve in WWII, whether drafted on enlisted on their own, got that job back (if they wanted it) when they returned.
Well I use the same sources that you guys do for current scores and often get conflicting reports. I am going to change it to 50-6 cause that is wha the KHSSA has on the Phelps page at this time. The game was in KY so what KY says goes. https://scoreboard.12dt.com/scoreboard/khsaa/kyfb23/89887
I just don't hink that kids and parents want to make the time commitment that is needed. Remember. Back in our day the vast majority of players could walk to school and practice. That is not the case now. It creates expenses and time commitments that were not previously present for most players.
My favorites are all spread out. Cincinnati - baseball. Washington football. Denver - NBA. Philly - Hockey. Nebraska - college football. I root for WVU and Va Tech in college sports,
This analysis is spot on. Good ole Freddy always has a trick play or two up his sleeve. For Graham to win, they have to stop the big play. That’s what kept Bluefield in the game last year when Graham should have shut them down. A 27-12 lead at halftime shouldn’t end in a 29-25 win, even though Graham won. Bluefield always has the mental advantage for whatever reason. Palmer has done a good job at changing that aspect. Graham has to get over the fact that the team lining up against them has that beaver on the jersey.
Chmara wasn't the only Beaver coach to head up the Fauquier progroam.
AT Howard did as well, for only the 1963 season.
And Tom Ferrell who was an assistant for many years and coached the baseball team at Bluefield. Was also a member of the 1963 undefeated Welch Maroon Wave.
Graham brings too many people to that one game. Split the gate or play at the new stadium every other year. Bring your folding chairs, can't pass up that kind of revenue.
They already split the gate. Have for years. Just keep that provision in the contract.

For whatever reason Marion and Va High had Grundy scheduled for this date. Va High found out late and they had to scramble to find a game.
