While I do not apologize for the opinions I hold, nor would I ever, I should have expressed them in a manner that was not so ferocious and intense.  I allowed the conviction in my beliefs to override an even and respectful demeanor, and for that I am deeply regretful.  I sincerely apologize for how I have presented myself over the last couple of weeks.  I hope, but don’t expect, that the members here will forgive me and “hit the reset button” as it were.
 
The only thing I would ask: Please do not ever take opinions shared on this board and use them as ammunition to attempt to place someone’s employment in jeopardy.  With all due respect, that’s the pinnacle of cowardice, and it affects more lives than just the member you dislike.

Union isn’t on the “playoff bubble”, LOL.  Not in a region with John Battle, Marion, and Richlands.

I’m as old school as several on here, but agree with this post. I believe the distinction comes from who is celebrating and the context. I believe community support is necessary. As long as humility is maintained, and not a sense of hubris, these celebrations are meaningful to each person in every stage of life. Sometimes, the little thank you’s make it easier to show up for the next event. If it leads to encouragement and further more wins, even just one, then what’s the harm? Football teaches toughness, but don’t forget reliance on others. Life is hard enough. Enthusiasm is infectious. In my life, I have learned it is just as important to receive help, and celebrate the good times, as to simply be independent and survive the hard times. At Richlands, we may have taken success for granted over the years. Right now, we could use some excitement. I applaud the Tazewell community for supporting their team. 

Gotta be careful. Short routes to get the ball in your playmakers’ hands aren’t well received on the message boards. Throw it deep or don’t throw it at all!!

Just a shame the way it ended considering all things. Would have rather lost any other way

The past three games in the series have been a lot of fun to watch. Over the last 20 years, with the exception of the early 2000’s & the 2 games in the 2008 season, the rivalry hasn’t been competitive. It’s better for both teams and both communities when each school has a chance to (& believes they can) win. 

This is in my professional wheelhouse. It's been my experience when planning, design, and construction plans are made, natural disasters tend to do the opposite of what one would expect. It's very likely, maybe even probable, the timeline will increase rather than decrease. Any time a natural disaster occurs, government agencies get involved that have little to no frame of reference for the planning/design/construction process. Procurement gets delayed over and over again because those agencies lag behind in processing data required for the permitting agencies to maintain a reasonable timeline to get to construction. Considering nothing can be built without the proper permitting agency approval, and those agencies being delayed by the "natural disaster" agencies doing their part, it becomes a giant time-suck the locality waiting for resolution pays a price for. Not to turn this political but the elected state representative serving SWVA will only delay this process further by way of simply not acting. It happened to Glade following the tornadoes. It's happened repeatedly following major flooding. It will continue to happen as long as he keeps getting elected to serve SWVA while living in Salem.

Grundy vs. Galax would be fun to watch. The game would be over by 8:15.

Nothing wrong with community showing support. Look how many fans were at that game. Football team has doubled in size from three years ago. Not the only factor but community support has a lot to do with it. Show me one kid that wouldn't love to be recognized like that as it may be their only chance in life  or even their first recognition that leads them to some important life decisions. 
We love our Bulldogs, always have always will. I challenge any other town/city/county to see if they support their team as much as we do. Sadly couldn't make it to Colonial Heights but was told we had more people there than they did. That's the support any team should be thrilled to have. 

On the flip side, Tazewell was reintegrating 2 starters back into the defensive rotation who had been out since Week 2.  One of whom, as a RAM DE, did an unsatisfactory job of sealing the edge the entire night.  His colleague at the LION DE position didn’t do much better.  The failure to keep Brown contained inside forced the single defender in coverage on the slot receiver (usually Kaizon Taylor) to make an either Brown/or WR choice, and Brown without fail made the right read in those spots.  When they forced Brown to stay inside, it resulted in 2-5 yard carries.  When he got outside, it was chaos.
 
That is a schematic oddity that is difficult to fix in real time but is very correctable after a week of practice.  Richlands running for almost as many yards as Graham and Riverheads combined is a one-off, I’d be willing to wager.
 
It will be a good game at Mitchell next Friday evening.  Tazewell needs it desperately for playoff seeding.  Bluefield has some historical milestones riding on it.  Should be fun!

Richlands has nothing to be ashamed about this evening.  Dylan Brown put the entire team on his back and turned in a grown ass man performance.  Vanover played admirably as a feature back too.  The Richlands team that showed up tonight wouldn’t be 1-6 if they had that level of execution and intensity all season long.  Thankful for the win in one of the wildest games I’ve ever seen.

Richlands has nothing to be ashamed about this evening.  Dylan Brown put the entire team on his back and turned in a grown ass man performance.  Vanover played admirably as a feature back too.  The Richlands team that showed up tonight wouldn’t be 1-6 if they had that level of execution and intensity all season long.  Thankful for the win in one of the wildest games I’ve ever seen.

Blues had 2 fumbled kickoffs that Tazewell recovered. A fumbled punt. A fumble by the RB inside the Tazewell 25. And missed a FG at the end of the half. 
 
Richlands left a LOT of points on the field tonight. Can’t do that and expect to win. Good win Dogs.
