I agree 100% with this....first they need to cut the playoffs to 8 teams on each side(sorry but 16 is too many IMO)....then go to a region format as you said to lower the travel some and last they need to do away with the stupid ass Cross-bracketing garbage....they want to cut travel down and then they go and do something as stupid as making 2 teams go 3/4 of the way across the state at the least for a state semifinal game....totally stupid IMO

Yeah but that's just a plain out stupid rule....first the way the playoffs are set up now it's stupid as hell...too many teams but if they are going to do it this way and i'm sure they are because of more teams = more money then no way should the road team EVER have a say so in when game is played....Home team has EARNED the right IMO to decide when the game is played....but that's just my opinion

Yeah I was talking end of seasons points where I said Richlands couldn't get above #4 if everyone wins out

I don't think Richlands could move to 3rd even with a win against Abingdon(I could be wrong though) unless one of the 3 in front of them right now loses a game....if everyone wins out I see no way Richlands could be higher than 4th....but if i'm wrong someone correct me cause i'm not positive on this stuff

Yeah I think you are right about him not playing against us last year....But i saw him in a couple other games last year other than the Giles game....I know his family pretty well

Oh I think they were pissed against Glenvar but Glenvar is just a better team right now....and the game Saturday was a lot closer than the playoff game last year....We had a shot to win Saturday where as last year in playoffs we didn't.
 
As far as injuries for Giles Pennington is the only major one and I haven't heard if he is playing or not....But we have a bunch of players banged up....we have had a tough stretch especially the last 2 games in 6 days...but at this point of the season most teams are a little banged up.
 
If we can get through Friday we have Floyd and East mont the next 2 weeks....should be a good time to get some back ups some PT and get our starters out early and give them some rest....we are a very tired football team right now but I have confidence in the players and coaches they will be ok come playoff time

You can look at Glenvar's entire DL....entire line are studs...that's why they shut us down....we have Soph's and Jr's trying their hardest to block these stud Sr's that's been around a while....Best DL i've seen Giles face in at least 10 years or more....kids are a special group

Hats off to Glenvar on a hard fought win tonight and Hats off to my spartans for showing a lot of heart tonight in defeat....Bottom line is Giles had chances and couldn't capitalize on them and Glenvar kicked a FG with a little over a minute left to win it 16-14....Glenvar really played well in the 2nd half.
 
Note to Richlands and Union fans----If you play Glenvar you damn well better have your offense ready....their defense is VERY VERY good...I think it's the best defense Giles has played against in at least the last 10 years and maybe more....Their DL is absolutely dominate. I think Richlands would have a shot against them because of their passing attack but IMO NOBODY and I mean NOBODY is going run on this team if they are at full strength...I will be rooting for anyone against them though.
 
Glenvar is well coached(even though I think he is a major tool) and a few of their players(especially #2) are classless pricks but once again this year they are going to be a tough out come playoff time. If we get another shot at them we will have a hard time beating them but that's why they play the game.
 
Giles just needs to regroup and get ready for a very good Radford offense next Friday....But I have full confidence in our players and coaches that they will put this tough loss behind them and go forward starting Friday.
 
My buddy said he saw that Richlands head coach(his name I can't remember at this time LOL) at Highlander field tonight...wonder what he was doing there LOL...I talked to his dad at halftime and his dad is a great guy also

I do agree with you on one thing.....He would have been one heck of a HS QB no doubt about it
 
I disagree with you on one thing....He was not "made to run" the single wing....he choose to run the single wing because the High School he attended happened to run it

Possible Concussion...they were doing the test after the game last night.
 
Kudos to the Harris kid from Galax....my god what a beast and one hell of a RB....talked to him after the game and what a good kid
 
Anyone know Harris totals rushing? He had to have 40+ carries....that kid is a manchild....3 great RB's in a row for coach Dixon and a pretty good OL as well
