I made the comment on Facebook that an extra week of practice and game experience would be beneficial for the kids coming back next year, and had a Unaka momma tell me I didn't know what I was talking about.

Finish what you start. You're blessed enough to have an 11th game, give it everything you've got, even if the outcome is certain. There'll come a day when you wish you could lace up those cleats again.

How am I in any way being an axx hole? Is saying a team is good and has the best player in 1A being an axx hole? I gave my opinion on how I think the game will go. And gave facts from last year's game and how this season is going.

Better seating, lighting, concession stands/bathrooms, and fieldhouse/locker room are a much better investment if they are wanting to spend money.

Improve visitor seating then worry about field!

The turf fields wear out rather quickly considering the price tag.  Plus, there are a lot of "hidden" costs that they may not be able or willing to meet in the future like the routine maintenance/upkeep required to keep the field usable year in and year out.  Then in about 15 or so years, you'll be looking to replace the field entirely with a new rug.
 
For most communities, they can't afford it.
 
The turf at Mitchell Stadium is shot due to the amount of use (little leagues, middle school, jv and varsity high school, and Bluefield College practicing on it every day).  The City of Bluefield doesn't have the money to replace it.  It was originally funded by the Shott Foundation when it was first installed with the agreement that the City would take care of it.  Well, they haven't.  Skipped maintenance, excessive use, and an idiot with a snow plow have worn it out in what I consider to be a very short time for something so expensive.  Now, I'm hearing rumors of the City of Bluefield wanting to hike the "usage fee" charged to Bluefield High School, Graham High School, and Bluefield College by over 60% in the coming years.  I'm pretty certain neither Mercer nor Tazewell Counties are going to pay that sort of increase.

It is a game and that is why they are played. GW-Galax? Sure Some thought Galax would win but domintating? Rural Retreat over Marion? Castlewood over Honaker. I am sure Battle will be ready and if PH is not it could be a long night. THis season has been fun so far.

When VT beat UT a few years ago, no UT fan blamed the loss on UT giving them the game, or any other excuse. Mistakes in a game are PART of the game, and often caused by the other team. UT won, face it fellas. GBO!!!

Never said he was a great passer but he's a great football player. Way better than the pitiful performance on Thursday night.
