Just didn’t have an offense to go with it. Tough to swallow when you hold almost everyone to 17 or less and can’t score 20.1 point

Overlooked game?
Deleted Account reacted to BigWinners for a topic
I think games like Virginia High/Tennessee High or Graham/Giles are much more interesting games of the Week simply because of playoff repercussions. No offense to TW or Castlewood, but 1A Region D is basically decided. Chilhowie is gonna win the region, there's little doubt there. In 2A, it's wide open with 4-5 teams believing they could win Region D, and winning big games helps secure home games. Again no respect to what should be a very close and intriguing matchup, but I see why most people who aren't residents of Caetlewood or Thomas Walker aren't paying attention1 point -

Cormany (basketball) is a real a$$ at Radford but he wins. Coaches these days seem as tho if they ain't buddy buddy with the players they will get the boot. Growing up a coach was never friends with any player at least where I'm from. Kids and parents need to suck it up cause football is a tough sport, and if the kid ain't tough he gets hurt. With that said I think he can find another gig pretty soon. Good coaches are hard to come buy these days.1 point -

SWVA Sports Podcast - Episode 25

I’ll be back next week. I probably could have pushed it and did the pod today. But I would have had to edit a lot of coughing and hacking. And my voice still isn’t strong. So best to let Brady do his thing and it be a quality pod as compared to me trying to limp through one lol. Brady did a helluva job this week having to go it solo.1 point -
V-T Game #102

As a lifelong Bristolian and Bearcat fan, I can firmly say that THS is the one school I can never cheer for. If ISIS had a football team, and they played the snooty, priveledged school across town, I'd have to pull for the terrorists 😂 I deeply hope we beat them tomorrow, but I'm pessimistic1 point -

I was talking to a friend about this earlier. He is an AD at another school in that general area. He said parents were pulling their kids from practice and making them quit because the coach was being too hard on them. If that's the case, the parents will get what they deserve watching the program go back to being an afterthought. Too bad for the kids though. The past couple of seasons have shown what that school can do with the right attitude and motivation. Dixon can be a bit much at times and his ego is the size of Texas. Show me someone with his successful track record, both as a coach and player, that isn't. But stories like this make me appreciate how the Galax community has bought into his philosophy and have supported the program as much as possible. After all, Galax and Staunton River have virtually the same athletic history prior to Dixon and Poston. Which is none at all!1 point

Gc vs ab

The deal with the income tax stuff: Many GC graduates end up working in TN...........because that is where the jobs are located. If you work in TN and live in VA, you pay income tax in VA. If you work in TN and live in TN, you do not pay any income tax. (TN sticks it to you with the sales tax.) So........there are tons of "GC People" who end up moving to, and living in, TN. A lot of these parents prefer their kids go to school at GC, so they start their kids in elementary school in either Weber City or Shoemaker. In their minds, they get the best of both worlds. Really.............the best of both worlds would be to live/work in TN, send your kids to GC if you prefer, and do as much shopping as possible in VA. Lots of those parents bringing their kids to WC or Shoemaker do their shopping at Food City/Food Lion. = tax revenue. The school system is not "bringing in kids" to the system. The parents are choosing where they take their kids based on what they perceive to be their best deal. Just like you do when you go shop for a car.............get your best deal. BTW......Weber City and Shoemaker will not accept TN kids if they run out of room and have to displace a VA kid. Edited to add teacher salary info. This link says Virginia ranks 30th in teacher salaries. When adjusted for cost of living, VA ranks 24th. https://www.johnlocke.org/update/education-update-teacher-pay-rankings-are-out/1 point -
Yes sir, but my income tax is based on MY income, not how many TN kids go to Scott Co or Russell Co kids go to Wise Co, or KY kids go to Lee Co, so forth and so. Never said it was fair or right. It is what it is. The wealthy use tax breaks and loop holes to game the system. What's the problem with poor counties doing the same?1 point

I wouldn't say FSU "gashed VT's defense", especially in the running game. FSU finished with 94 yards on 28 carries with 85 coming on one play. The other 27 carries resulted in 9 yards. With that said, VT should have had several more scores. VT made its fair share of mental mistakes resulting in points being taken off the board. As an unbiased observer married into a Hokie family, I'm not sold on Jackson as a quality QB either. He is inaccurate and makes bad decisions with the football at times. He made several bad decisions last night but FSU was ill-prepared to take advantage of them. A better prepared opponent would have capitalized on those mistakes. I agree that FSU wasn't prepared for this game but for anyone who watched Oregon last season, that seems to be a common theme for Taggert. I questioned FSU choice in replacement for Jimbo when they announced Taggert. I question it more-so now!1 point -

Or the parents from what my buddy down that way told me Said parents thought their kids were practicing too hard and the parents didn't like when their kid was moved to another position. So they bitch and complain and the coach is gone...pathetic and I hope they go 0-10 like they use to before overstreet and company came along0 points
