  1. since they should be playing in 2A it only makes sense

  2. Hopefully the unsportsmanlike conduct penalties are cut down in the playoffs. This team would have beaten Paintsville if it wasnt for a couple of critical penalties and it's almost cost them in a few other games.

    1st round surprises?

Peaking in high school isn't something to be proud or envious of in my opinion! With that said, Riverheads is on another level than anyone else in Class 1, including Galax. I think Galax can beat them this season given this may be the best team Dixon has fielded. But they will need help from Riverheads in order to complete that task. Helping opponents is something Casto/Norcross coached teams rarely do so, good luck with that. I know Dixon and Company are up for the challenge though. Dixon lead teams won't back down or shy away from anyone.

    GC at Union Part 2

GC wasn't fully healthy until a few weeks ago, so I would imagine they are improved compared to their performance at GW. As for Union, they are still trying to figure some things out in regards to the injuries(both major and minor). Also, GC has played the Bears tough in the past when not expected to win. 2012(first half), 2013, '15, and '16 all come to mind, in addition to this year's regular season game. It started off looking like a blowout for Union and ended up a 2 score game.

  5. I am surprised that people think this will be close. No disrespect to either team, but I watched Gate City get throttled against George Wythe. Unless union is a shell of the team that I watched play Ridgeview and Gate city has greatly improved, I just don't see it as a close game.

No, definitely not him! He's awesome. I'm referring to the one that went back to Fluvanna Co. He didn't have a clue.

    2019 TSSAA Playoffs

I personally expect Greeneville to lose, they are a good team but not great and Anderson County owes them a few. South could hang with Betsy because both play the same type of game and South has their best player back (RB, Julian Reed) and Elizabethton had to block South's extra point, which South made the first attempt but was penalized for a false start. So they lost by a single point 14-13 without Reed! South Greene is good but Meigs County is really good. DB you never know about. Hampton is the hot team right now they have given up 6 points in the last five games and should handle Oneida. Most surprised if they win: South Greene Most surprised if they lose: Hampton

    2019 TSSAA Playoffs

Round 2 of the playoffs takes place this week and the Northeast Tennessee teams got thinned out pretty good. In 1A: Oliver Springs (9-2) travels to Roane Mountain to take on Cloudland (6-5) In 2A: Oneida (7-4) plays at Hampton (9-2) and South Greene (10-1) travels to Meigs County (10-1) In 3A: There are no local teams left. In 4A: Sullivan South (6-5) travels to Elizabethton (11-0) Betsy had to block an extra point the last time these two played and South did not have Julian Reed playing watch out here. Greeneville (9-2) travels to Anderson County (10-1) the Greene Devils have been the arch nemesis for the Mavericks the last few years, also both teams have lost to Powell, who is 11-0 In 5A: Daniel Boone (7-4) visits South-Doyle (8-3) In 6A: Knox Bearden (5-6) visits Dobyns Bennett (9-2) Good luck to the teams left and thanks for allowing me to post!

  10. Think it's more likely due to weak ooc schedule, stil a good season for them again, with opportunities to win and secure a better spot than the current rock and a hard place. They're getting consistent, just gotta get over the hump.

  11. 23 is enough, shame on them. Just more of the "if everything's not perfect don't do it" mindset. Those seniors had 1 more opportunity to play and it was taken from them. I didn't know Goochland moved up, that takes some of the bite out of the other side of the AA bracket. Goochland is a fine program
