  1. Can’t wait to the second quarter so we can find out if George Wythe would finish better than 3rd in the BDD @olewave

  2. Tazewell is almost as healthy as they have been all season, with the exception of week 1. Creasy is nearly 100 percent. They get one of their D linemen back this week (at least that's what I hear). Tazewell needs to be locked in and focused. Hoping for a Dog's win.

  3. If he's good enough colleges will find him no matter where he's at unless it's Fuentes who can't see talent an hour or two down the road as Graham fans would know

  4. I think it’s a toss up, one score game. I could be totally off base but I would be shocked if either win big. I’m going 21-20 with one or the other winning. 😂

Will the Wolfpack passing game be too much for Union? Will Union play keep away and keep the score low?

I had a long response typed out that I lost, it all boils down to competition and talent produced. Union plays big games vs tough competition and has 3 players currently in NCAA Division II or higher and one in the NFL that all came through the program in the past 5 years. The Cumberland District as a whole has no one playing in college and to my knowledge hasn't sent a player to Division II or higher in at least the past 2 decades. How will this kid perform on the field vs good competition? If he stays at Rye Cove a recruiter will never know until they get him on campus. At Union he will play against good competition in the M7, not to mention non-conference games against good SWD teams and from what I hear big time NET teams.

Union could have deion sanders and rod Woodson in the secondary this week and some how Edward's the def coordinator would screw it up.

  9. There’s a reason that Turner hasn’t ran out of the T much this year, look for Sneed to move to the backfield to crush a linebacker on the counters and power sweeps . I look for the word of the night will be ball control

  10. It'll be interesting, as good as rv is union is sitting there hungry after giving 2 big games away already. I believe they come out a little sharper this week. Those young dbs are 5 games in so not new anymore and rv qb looks to be averaging at least 1 pick a game. Won't be a lack of throwing, but if pack wins it's because of a complimentary run game they didn't have last season. Bears moving some personel will be an absolute necessity. Good luck to both. 21-20 either way this is going to impact pairings in November big time.

Union is young in the secondary and thats their weakness defensively. RV has the most talent in the passing game in SWVA, that will be the difference. Wolfpack by 2 TDs in a hard fought game.

  15. This is a game where Ridgeview truly should put it in the air. Ridgeview likes to chuck it anyway, but of all games and Union's not so strong point being the secondary in pass coverage, Ridgeview should throw it over 25 times in my opinion. This is the game imo, the first true big test for Ridgeview's Defensive Line. Does Unon side swipe em with 4 and 6 yards per carry off tackle and control the clock and maul them on the ground, or does Ridgeview's defensive line, which is supposed to be much better and very good play Region Title Contender football. RV will move the ball and get some scores with the passing game, but what I'm interested in this game without being able to watch it is..........how many yards did Union have on the ground. If that number is under 150 yards, that's a cause for worry for other Region D region title contending teams.

    Union @ Ridgeview

Both teams have a lot on the line. Ridgeview need to solidify their status and Union needs to stand up to the pressure of being a region D contender with their losses. Most certainly if Ridgeview plays a complete game they will handle Union. Ridgeview can literally move the ball solidly on the ground and air. True they have an amazing air game, but their ground game is really good. Defense is really good with a couple lagging areas that seem to have tightened up. Union is never gonna be not prepared for Ridgeview. They want this and can win it if they catch Ridgeview slacking in any area. Gonna be a monster game. The Ridge will be packed! An amazing venue with plenty of parking and standing room.

    Offensive schemes

Ridgeview Summer 2022... Son and WR coach play Madden 2018 Son to dad "New idea for an offense", Dad "run it" Fall 2022... Son and WR coach to QB, run this and don't deviate... Ridgeview... spread formation. 7 and 13 twins left, 5 and whoever twins right. QB cadence, snap ball, QB look left. Continue to look left, continue to look left. 5 and whoever stand wide open and continue to be wide open, wave arms. QB look left, throw fade or streak to 7, hook to 13 while being triple coveraged. Defense, intercept ball/knock ball down. Coaches... "We'll get 'em next time" Dad/s... "That 7/13 needs to touch the ball more"

  18. @RedPrideNation I'm a big fan of what Riverheads does offensively. Old school offense that threatens every gap up front and every zone is the passing game with relatively few plays so that the players get really good at what they're doing. Old school offenses still work; Union in the T is a force, Central has been Wing-T for a few years(more Wing-T shotgun this season), Abingdon has been primarily a I-Formation team for several years now, a few years ago Lebanon was struggling and went Power-I with some success, Twin Springs has been a I-Formation teams for a few years now. The move away from "spread" offenses is already happening, TEs and Wings are becoming the norm with fewer WRs, most are just in Shotgun now.

  20. And some of them think the problem is entirely the coaches. I think as long as there is a little improvement each week no matter how much, that’s a win at this point for the Blues. It’s going to take time as in more than one season. Some folks won’t be satisfied unless a coach can give them instant “glory days” back! True fans support the program, coaches, & players through the drought. Just my humble opinion

  21. Good points and agree with Gridiron60 and Bandana. I guess it’s a long-term multi-faceted problem that requires a long-term solution. That said, I think I will start a post addressing the “offensive culture” aspect. The specifics are very interesting to me.

  23. Tazewell by 14. I’m literally taking a write up from work to go to this game😂 but it wouldn’t surprise me if Tazewell beat them worse than 14, yet it would surprise me if it was close. Depends on the intensity Tazewell brings, they have the weapons to win big. It’s just will they do it.

It doesn't matter if Turner moves sneed back there or anyone else. The Pack are about to open a good ole can of butter whooping on the bears up on the Ridge. Look for it to be loud and get ugly quick. Pack by 30 or more.
