Can someone explain why the Gate City  coach refuses to start #30?
 The kid is arguably the 2nd best scorer on the team, and one of the better defenders and rebounders.
Does the coach have a personal issue with starting transfers that weren’t brought up through the feeder schools?
Maybe time Vermillion or Ervin come out of retirement.
 

Gate City vs. Hampton would be good, similar game plans, similar fan bases! 

Really???? That's BS. If we were worried about who was next, we wouldn't scrimmage folks like EC Glass. Three straight wins against Union. Should be 5 if not for a suspension. 

Congrats to Region D Class 2 Coach of the Year Jeremy Houseright and the win against Union.  Houseright is dam* good guys.  As long as he's there, Gate City is going to be a major problem in the M7.  A major problem.  It's coming.  They aren't going to take a step back either.  They are only going to get better and better.  For that team to start out like it did 0-2 and lose by 50 points to Radford, and then real off 8 out of 9 wins with one of those being a playoff game and two wins over Union on the year, and to come from where they were last year.  He has to be coach of the year in the region.  I know Palmer and staff are good, but Graham returned bucket loads of talent as did Ridgeview.  
Remarkable job by Houseright and Staff at Gate City this year.

Clintwood and GC played a few classics from them till 2010 when the GC program went downhill a bit. 

Best game in person (playoffs) 1994 -(13-0) Powell Valley beat (13-0) Lebanon 34-33 State-Semis Harry Stuart Field. PV had Thomas Jones, Todd Zirkle, and Danny Dorton. Lebanon had Nathan McGlothlin and Kelvin Coleman

We try to do a different item for each game as far as concessions go and this Friday is BBQ themed. We do have the staples and the Eagles Nest or Screaming Eagle will always be an option. This Friday though replacing the chili with BBQ on the screaming Eagle is solid (screaming Eagle has jalapeño and banana peppers).

Thomas walker had a horrible contractor that left the field unseeded after installing the new sprinklers.
Lee high is in the process of painting their Track and did not want to ruin that. 
Pennington does not have working bathrooms. 
Basically a lot of things out of our power that came to a head. You really can't get anyone to work anywhere. 

Admit that high school sports in Virginia are better than Tennessee…

im not trying to be too hard on him but this is every year and he took over 2 programs that had won 13 or 14 state titles between the two and cant get past the region
its time to go a different way 

the playoffs are too of a stage for travis i dont think he gameplans right like he would during the regular season everytime they make the playoffs its a blowout from teams that cant be that much better than union

How's their peanut program doing, someone from GC said last year that some teams didn't have enough kids to field a team.  That's the level they need to fix first then everything else will resolve itself

Volunteer has 1124 students. 
 
The other schools in their conference are Greeneville, Elizabethton, Seymour, Grainger, and Sullivan East. 
 
The school closest to Volunteer’s enrollment is Grainger. And Grainger has just over 900 students. That’s a 200 some student difference. 
 
Volunteer doesn’t exactly dominate. We never have. 
 
Don’t whine about enrollment.
