Tru Blue 72

Seen some improvement on the Richlands side, but not enough.  The results will probably be equal to the regular season game, but it's the playoffs and anything could happen.  I'll hope for the upset, but really have my doubts, just being truthful.  Still a fan, never give up, never give up, GO BLUES!!!

Rumor is a replacement for Tarter was located last year, just wanted to wait for his son to finish his high school career in his present location before migrating to Richlands, but that's still just a rumor. Time alone will tell the truth in that statement.

Can we do a Lee/GC Allstar team? That would be a much better game!

I think Tarter has done a pretty good job. Rough start for sure but Richlands has steadily improved thru the year. Very few coaches have done as much as he has with as little as he has to work with this year. Hasn't lost to anyone that he was supposed to beat and he has won twice when he was supposed to lose. I know it isn't a popular sentiment but I think he should be Region coach of the year.

Well let me quit beating around the bush.  Most Union fans don't won't to drive an hour to watch their team destroy someone and risk getting starters hurt vs a team that they have no business playing and on top of that listening to a woman scream after every play holding on Union and we would win if the refs were cheating us.  How's that clear enough

Richlands has played good at times, but sloppy most of the time.  Cannot keep turning the ball over and expect to win.  Virginia High has played pretty consistant IMO and should win this game by at least 2-TD's, but it will all come down to the players on the field.  I am a true blue fan, but I still don't believe a team that is below 500% deserves to even be in the playoff's, but VHSL makes the rules and even with the worst record Richlands has had in several years, they still have a chance for a first round home game.  I hope both teams have all the players healthy, and the game is played with good sportsmanship both on the field and in the stands, and all players are safe.  Could be a very interesting game, and the winner will have to put forth a valent effort, lke every time these two meet. I concede this point but there should be rewards for being #1 seed with highest power points. If not, why even bother with keeping track of power points? 

Those teams were loaded with talent and then you throw in some legendary coaches and that gives you the  recipe for success that those Appalachia and Powell valley teams had  .  It’s hard for people to except that the depth level/ talent level has dropped. I know that it’s hard for teams to be balanced.  Richlands doesn’t have the horses to be balanced. Union and central are  somewhat one dimensional.  That’s why Graham , IMO is the toughest out this year in the region.  Good qb play. Good running back. Good line.  1 of the best lineman prospects in the state.  A playmaking athlete to stretch a defense , with some complimentary receivers. Not sure that anyone other than Rv has the potential to be that balanced.  I’m excluding abingdon and Haven’t watched enough of va high.  But Turner is widely regarded  in the region as a good coach.  Mance was a the same way. Maybe he did stay with the spread a season or 2 to long but nonetheless they were still relevant and always won a game or two that they weren't expected to win even during his final 3 years. 

Pretty  dang proud  of the Blues tonight...

Thanks, and I hope the play we saw out of Richlands in the second half at Union shows up at the beginning of this game.  If that level of play continues, then I think it will be a good game, and like I said before, I haven't seen but a few plays from DC, but they have a history of having a good team so who knows.
 

Must chime in and say I'm proud of the Blues for never quiting in this game.  They could have folded after the first half, hung their heads and got on the bus, but they fought hard in the second half against a better opponet and never quit fighting until the end.  Union had the better team, and it showed on the field.  I take my hat off to both teams and congrats to the way the game was played.  Always an exciting game to watch and this one was no different, just a good hard played football game.

I don't know about this year or others but they ain't beating the 2016 Appo team.  That was one of the best teams I've seen and I've seen some good ones play in northern VA

IMO both teams respect each other no matter what the record, and this game will be no different.  Injuries play a roll in this, and Richlands has gathered themselves and became hungry again, but Union should win by at least 2-td's, yet we all must remember how these two go at each other.  This game may come down to the final play as it's done for a number of years, so I'll hold my hopes out for The Blues in an upset.  Hope the injured players get better for the playoffs and wish both teams a safe game.

Uva-wise same way hardly any local kids.  Polier from Union and a couple Gate City kids is all I know of probably missing a couple though

That's one of my beefs with Bluefield College (University) is the fact they don't recruit more local talent. Glad to see BS off to an impressive start. 

Helluva game tonight. What more could you ask for?? A well officiated game that came down to the last play. Proud of Richlands for taking Tazewells punches in the sound half and giving a few back and holding on at the end. The Creasey kid is as advertised. He’s gonna be a thorn in the regions side if the Dogs have talent around him. 
 
These teams are separated by 3 points in 2021, with both games being barnburners. Glad the rivalry is back.

Yeah, you clearly don’t know much about UVAO as a human being. Dude is about as good a guy as you could ask for, and does a great job.

Defence: Blitz one from different D-back position every play, contain QB. Taxewell offense: QB throws deep ball any where down the field, let receviers track it down, occasional run or screen pass. Defense: 2 deep safeties, stack the box, hit the QB every play.
Now I know a lot will be upset about this post, but I'm sure everyone on this board does the armchair coaching thing.  I hope this turns out to be an old fashion blow for blow game, with the Blues coming out on top and all players safe and respectful.  Reminds me of sibling rivilary, brother on brother. Everybody is talking about the field conditions, its football, play in the mud, play in the rain, play in the snow, that's the good old fashion way and to this day the Richlands vs Tazewell Regional championship played on that same field in sloppy snow conditions when Muncy and Rasnic were star players for Tazewell is still remembered as one of the best games between these two..  GO BLUES!!!!!

Two things
1. The thing that separates Tazewell's Stadium and Richlands' turf is the fact that an outside source paid for our turf, kinda hard to be too picky there, and Tazewell could have bought one shade of green paint in bulk and fixed the problem.
2. If you take things on this message board so literal that you dig into your color wheel for reference, you should probably find a hobby for enjoyment.

I'm always enamored on how many different shades of green you can find inside Bulldog Stadium, truly a sight to see!
 
Also, where should I park just in case there happens to be another parade?  I'd really like to avoid that at all costs.
