S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE got a reaction from LacesOutDan23 in Union Vs Tazewell
Record since he's been there after the first year has steadily improved and established some consistency. Even beefed up the schedule but so far haven't had that big game to turn the corner. Farthest they've made it so far, and who knows anything could happen Saturday. They've got nothing to lose and everything to gain. Could be interesting. It's enough to stop the bleeding of losing athletes to neighboring schools.

Agreed. He’s getting there. RC is blessed with some talent along the front. Being able to slide Jay Bowen from TE to LT was a great opportunity. Jay is solid and has great feet. Dakota Meade and Trevor Darnell are both agile strong guards and Austin has been solid at center. Cooper Bowen has come in when someone has been injured and performed like a starter too.

That is exciting though! We’re going to see some great football next year in 2D! Hopefully all the teams will be competitive & it will be a dogfight in the SWD & M7, then region! The better we all are, well, the better we all are!

S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE reacted to BandanaVTDavis4321 in Patrick Henry vs Honaker
I went with this in week 3 and will stick with it. Honaker is the head honcho this year in 1D, but if any team can clip them in regular season or the playoffs, it will be Patrick Henry. The weather is getting colder and PH is physical and loves to pound the rock. Teams like this can be a real problem late in the season/playoffs as the weather cools.
Rye Cove looks darn good out there also, by I still think the champion of 1D comes from the game this Saturday between PH and Honaker. If you're Honaker, I think...just my opinions, you want the best weather possible. If your PH, you want the worst weather possible.
Honaker better come focused because PH has the ability to pull a W here.

I need to dig up my post on each M7 team’s fans for you SWD fans.
Rule #1- No one. Absolutely no one is ever more physical or as physical as Union. Evah!!! Although they were complaining about RV’s dirty hits and tried to dox one of the RV kids after the game this year for being too physical with a Union player.
Graham has outmuscled and out- Unioned Union the past couple of seasons and it has killed them.
Tazewell needs to understand that the sheer force, velocity, speed and physicality will be something they cannot comprehend nor witnessed in the history of Bulldog football. In fact, if they had any sense they wouldn’t even show up. Save themselves.😂
In all seriousness, the Bulldogs can’t win just by passing. Union always has a good OL and DL. The game will be decided there.

Team speed is no doubt in favor of the G-men but if GC can contain the run game then they've got as good a chance as any to be in the game late. I think G-men are a little better up front than GC and could be the real difference in the game especially defensively.
I believe G-men pull away late 28-7

Would love to see someone outside the SWD get the chance, but in all reality, Tazewell County School Board has some members who have sons coming up in the program and will more than likely be influenced by this factor in their decision making. As I understand it, The Supervisor of Secondary Education wants his son to be QB, wheather or not he has talent, and I don't know that he doesn't, but this will be a picking point this supervisor will discuss with whoever applies. So it comes back to the good old boys club and the politics of the county. Just saying, my crusty old opinion, take it for what it is. It's not about school pride, school spirit or fan base, it's all about ME & MINE!!

I don't think anyone keeps up with the stats as far as targets downfield. How many yards could be attributed to short spot pass-type plays to say "Harris" who just graduated? It's not exactly as if he's been taking defenses apart. On average how much they throwing a game? It's not uncommon in today's game to see 25-30 attempts a game but if you neglect the run game you're not going far. The coach is utilizing what he's got, and maybe he's boosting the #s a little in the kid's favor, good for him. What happens in the event that he's not on the field or the opposing team has a good pass defense and is able to pressure the QB? I think it's a case of simply neglecting an aspect of the game but hey if the kid hits 4000 a year and fails to make a region title game on a yearly basis it may be time to go another route and add some more wrinkles. Good luck to both

S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE got a reaction from RichRich in UVA Wise coach call it quits
I do believe when Lusk was there, he tried to get a few locals but he didn't inherit a great program either. He didn't set the conference on fire either after a couple of years kinda back in the same old spot. Coach Robbins is there in some form or fashion and a wealth of knowledge whether you like the guy or not he knows football, players, and how to establish a program. Why not use your resources that are still around? Colley, Robbins, Jones, Housewright, Colobro, Salyers, etc. They've never coached college that I know of but rather than hiring a new guy without some old-school mentality, call on some local proven coaches. What's the worst that could happen? Another sub-par showing?

S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE reacted to BandanaVTDavis4321 in Virginia Playoffs: Take One.
Said this in week 1 and will stick with it. If any team in D has a chance at Honaker, it's Patrick Henry because of their physicality, size, and ability to run the ball and the colder it gets, it helps Patrick Henry's chances. I still like Honaker to win D, but imo, Patrick Henry is still the one with the best chance compared to the rest.

Exactly. Not smart and the finer points of the game elude them

S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE got a reaction from SwvaOG in Possible transfers next year.
I could see him at TE for sure, but when they put him out wide, he's out of his element. He's a banger, blocking and catching tough passes in traffic. The way he's been used this season, he'd been more beneficial at tackle.

Hate to hear that, look like they have union a tough time for a half anyway. Hope they recover and make a good showing. Good luck to both.

So many people on Facebook seem to know the game so well, should have a really good field to choose from.

Agreed. Just to many playmakers out or playing at 50% for RV. Never seen a team so decimated by injuries and I have been around sports for long time. Good thing they are all sophomores and juniors so they can mostly get another run next year.

Honaker got some deficiencies exposed the past few weeks. Better tighten up, gonna be tough mudding in 1D. Could be a couple upsets.
