Common sense football says when the other team has an explosive offense and you have a run first offense use every second of that game clock and shorten the game. Thats not playing not to lose that a pretty decent game play that works for a lot of teams

They looked sloppy and missed some big plays they are making now. Just my opinion 

Don’t forget putting Union in the mix. GMan closed Graham/Union thread yet here we are in this thread rehashing last Friday.

Let me explain what I mean by "punching them in the mouth". When Galax had the ball and said ball was snapped the offensive line was politely pushing the defensive line 2+ yards down the field. Radford's D line had no answer for that. Galax had no answer for the athletes that Radford had on the field either. 

When you watch the Galax/Radford game it feels like Galax punched them in the mouth. Up and down the field they were able to move the ball. Penalties and turnovers killed them. Radford hit some big plays but I guess when you have that many athletes the big play threat is always there no matter what play is called. They do throw it deep several times a game.

Who said Graham was lucky? They played a better game and deserved to win, but those acting like there's a huge gap are being silly. All anyone talked about is that dominant Graham defense but Union, with zero passing game, racked up 200 plus rushing yards and was well within FG range 4-5 times but has no K at the moment. Graham is a very good team that can run the ball very well and Clemens is a great runner. But there's no huge gap between the teams. 
Radford has t e best collection of skill positions in 2A. RV is a close second. Graham isn't loaded with WR or QB talent, they have a great defense and a very good OL and a great RB. It's no insult to Graham unless we gotta pretend Graham has the best everything always.

GW was lucky to play Radford first game of the year.... Radford played sloppy and had to many mistakes of their own doing.

By my logic, George Wythe had ZERO to do with the conversation as the discussion was Galax vs Radford and Galax having some success moving the ball on the ground.  250ish yds speaks for itself.  What I wrote is exactly as it was stated.  When teams rush for 250 yards and they turnover 1 time or less, they usually win the game.  That's a true statement.  I also clearly stated.....and clearly, "not by my logic" but clearly stated that I wasn't stating Galax would have won this game with only 1 turnover, but would it have likely been closer?  Common sense says the answer is yes. 

I agree we need more visitor seating but I figure as long as the VHSL says we have adequate seating to host playoff games nothing will be done.

Yes, it was a complaint. I remember last year the band got up and stood the whole game so more parents, etc. could sit.  The complaint came with a tongue-in-cheek joke attached. I do think it is unfortunate to have such a nice facility with minimal visitor seating. 

He was homeschooled so he entered kinda where he wanted.   He is a very old Junior I believe.

Galax moved the football well but fumbled 3 times and threw 2 interceptions. Galax also muffed a punt in the 1st quarter and lost the ball on downs twice. 

My son started lifting with me around 5th or 6th grade and he is close to 6'2", definitely didn't stunt his growth but we just worked on getting his form correct to begin with and the weight came later.

No Class 1 teams and very few Class 2 teams will have the athletes Radford has. But Galax needs to get something else going if for no other reason than to give Tedrhun a break. I'm sure he slept well after 43 carried and LB duties. 

No offense, but nobody in region D has matched up as well as with the teams coming out Region C in recent years in terms of talent at the skill positions as Graham has.  You can't really tell much about Graham's skill positions, especially on the defensive end from the Graham vs. Union game, because Union doesn't have a pass game.  I believe both Graham and Union have superior lineplay to Radford and both could give them a good game for that reason.  We are talking about a hypothetical matchup anyway.  But, IF those two meet, I would expect a very good and interesting game.  I would suspect it would be difficult for Radford to have the time to utilize their skill players as much as they would like, but I would also expect them to be able to bust a big play or 2 or maybe 3.  I would also expect Graham to control the line of scrimmage and move the ball down the field well also.  But that is my opinion and I have been known to be wrong a lot on here.  Whatever happens, whether it be Graham, Union or Ridgeview or anybody else coming out of Region D, I will surely be pulling for that team to represent the region well.
 
Also, Graham plays Galax this week, I'm sure that is their concern this week.  The G-men have good coaching and I think their style of play will keep them in any game this year with any opponent they may face in 2A.  A good defense and an offense that can effectively run and pass will keep you in any game that you play.

Radford's talent level is really impressive, Graham has a had a lot of talent in the past and I'm sure they have talent this year. Thanks for the update.

Graham’s strength is its defense. Offense is getting better adjusted. Special teams (kickoff team) is a weakness. Whoever coaches that aspect of the game needs to do some major work with those boys. Compared to defense, it’s way behind the mark.
