I am going to say something as someone from Big Stone originally and someone who has spent time away. 
 
I support the kids at Union. But to be quite blunt, they made a terrible effort tonight. 
 
Union has a great football program. It’s great what they have going on. And it’s fun more often than not to watch them. 
 
But the fans have got to quit acting like the team is unbeatable. Union is clearly not unbeatable and it’s high time people in Big Stone and Appalachia realize that. 
 
They made uncharacteristic mistakes. There were players trying to be heroes. Refer to the muffed punt. He should have let it roll. But you live and you learn. 
 
Central outplayed Union and they deserved every bit of that win.

If anyone complains about the horn then it’s just sore losers. They’re not blowing it wrong and I am near the horn.

Take it from me:
On the weekend people hiking McAfee Knob get STUPID. They park on Old Catawba, which is narrow as crap and there’s no way for people to park on the side. And there are people who park where it clearly says not to. 
 
When I lived in Craig County the last couple of years there would sometimes be a Saturday in which a dozen cars were towed. 
 
If you want to go on 311 then be careful. 
 
You can see some beautiful scenery if you go on 311. You can turn onto 621 (Upper Craig Creek Rd) just before you cross into Craig County or you can turn onto 42 (Cumberland Gap Rd) and see an overlook of New Castle. Stop by Joe’s Trees in Simmonsville. Then you will cross into Newport which is in Giles County. Then soon you can turn onto 460. 

Going back to the days when 19 year olds with full beards playing against 16 and 17 year old pimple faces kids….upon graduation from U VA at 19 Phil Robbins cracked in Thomas Jones number retirement “just think Thomas, if you had went to Gate City, you could have been a senior playing football now!” 

Especially with how good Graham’s band has historically been. It seems like he would be more appreciative of what band kids do. Just an observation. 
 
It is what it is. 

I know I don’t go to a football game just to watch the band or cheerleaders but I also know that I would go to a lot less of them if they weren’t there.
Atmosphere is what makes football games so fun. 

This. We go to watch a football game, ultimately. But without the atmosphere and the pageantry that everything else brings, it’s just not the same.
