Ryan your right about the worst officiating game ever.  It was bad for both teams but I may be wrong but it seemed like Union got the worst of it.  Our ends were being held all night also.  Almost felt like game was in Kentucky.

No they could not. and it would not be close......Collage (Even Small Collage) is on a different level

Good scrimmage tied at 17 at the half subbing a mix of 1s and 2s in the 3rd and straght 2s and 3s the 4th Chilhowie up 3 after a 42 yard fg that hit the upright and bounced in and Ridgeview missed a 38 yarder wide left
Chs has a tough rb and speed at qb nether team looks great passing and will need that addressed if they want to take there game to the next level

O and D lines should be the strength of there team that is for sure. 

Got the better of (not trucking) the play I am thinking about was a 10 yardish run with about 3 extra yards after contact sure it is modest as far as highlights go but still as good a go as a HS freshman vs VT Signee can go LOL (If I can find the clip I will post it)

Hill would have been the best player on the field in most games that season so losing him was a huge blow and probably understated.....He was 3rd team at the time and has grown into a solid QB but at the time he was thrown to the wolves so to speak

Ridgeview defense really stepped up last night and limited central qb to an extent I did not think possible.....on offense they took what central gave them with several players stepping up with big plays and the freshman rb has a chance to be a special player over the next 4 years.........rv needs to take this win build off it and get ready for union next Friday
 
Central is a solid team and they need to use this loss as a tool to work on mixing up there play calling there qb is a solid passer and a great runner but if you only run 5 plays you are really helping out the defense

Good but not great size on the line 2 solid running backs.
vs RV they had success overloading a side and pitching the ball that way
They will load the box and bring 7 or 8 every play but there pass coverage is not very good.
 
Central should be OK in this one but Grundy is a better team this year than they were last season if they can cut down on there penalties and contain the Central QB they can give themselves a shot

Union should win by as much as they want, Ridgeview's starters did about what they wanted in the 1st half of the scrimmage scoring on 3 of there 1st 4 possessions Burton did not really move the ball all that much until subs started getting more playing time at which point Burton looked to be the better team .
Not knocking RV who I think will be an improved team this season but if Union is a legit Contender in the region this season Burton would have had to have had a much better showing to think that the score would be close past the 1st qtr

RV will be fine in years to come as far a the Mullins offence not working well what they are running is NOT what Clintwood ran from 2004 until 2014 it is in place to try to hide there lack of size strength and depth on the line of scrimmage.
 
Rick is a heck of a coach and RV is lucky to have him as others have stated the issue with RV this season is a big dip in talent county wide that anyone who follows football locally saw coming 3 or 4 years ago
 
RV is in the Same situation as Honaker but no one is calling for Hubbard's head just yet
 
Another example will be Hurley after this season there dip in success next season will not be due to Tester forgetting how to coach but the dip in talent next season

1st I said possibly (I would put them with anyone this half of the state)  2nd I did not say 2011 and 3rd I am not saying Clintwood would have won a AA title in those years but Mix them with Haysi who had some top shelf talent as well and at the very lease we are not sitting at the bottom of the CMD LOL

If the ridgeview consolidation had occurred in 2010 instead of 2015 Ridgeview has several CMD titles and possibly a AA State title....The Talent level has dipped in a couple of grades but looks to be on the rebound with the underclassmen starting on the team. The biggest concern is that currently there are a lot of players that could contribute to the football team that are walking the halls of the Highschool and that will have to change if we want to see RV be a top level team.

The Pack looked better starting week 6 last season because #1 the schedule got ALOT easier the 2nd half of the season and the bliz of injury's to KEY players subsided.
 
This season IMHO the pack is more balanced with the pass vs run play calling and unlike last season the offence is mostly underclassmen so they will get better with more playing time and provide a good core for the team over the next few years

Honestly RV should beat Central (assuming that is who they are paired up with) but as I have said RV, Union, Central, or GC can beat any of the others on a given night so everyone needs to bring there "A" game
 
Where is the Conference tournament at this season and where next round (sectional/regional/whatever it is now called)

Well VHSL will keep it at a 32 team playoff and after seeing an 8-2 and 2 9-1 teams miss the playoffs due auto bids for district champs I am 100% OK 1 extra round in the playoffs......I also like the cross bracketing I say each region starts with 8 teams after 2 rounds cross bracket with the other West Region for 1 round then the other side of the state for the next round. Lastly the State game should get rotated between the regions. The shorter trips would result in larger crowds and less travel expense while keeping the cross bracketing will keep a region with 2 powerhouse teams from knocking each other out early in the playoffs
