tbgfan got a reaction from BandanaVTDavis4321 in New Head Coach at Richlands
I haven't mentioned any name, but there is someone I think can "right the ship". Someone said no one would want to come and rebuild. Well, that could be said for Graham, and Tazewell as well, but they have rebuilt with the right coaches. It can't be a revolving door, because those doors move quickly, around and around. No effort to push it open, go inside and stay. I hope for the community, Blues program, the young men on the team, and upcoming players, it isn't about being vested in the school system, but an investment for the future of the program. Wise decisions aren't made hastily for gratification, but long-term for success and development.

tbgfan got a reaction from EH31 in Buford, GA vs Grayson, GA 1st Meeting Powerhouses
FINAL
Buford 14
Grayson 19
If anyone wanted to see a superb defensive game...this was it for both Grayson and Buford. Buford's QB Raiola is a big guy. Has an arm and is accurate when he has time to throw, but Grayson sacked him several times for big losses. He isn't very mobile. Same can be said for Buford's defense, sacked Grayson's QB several times for losses. I got frustrated with Grayson's play calling on offense. I believe every 1st down was a run up the gut with a 1 yard gain. I knew what their play would be. Predictable, predictable. Also, their run game wasn't effective the whole game.
Glad Grayson came away with the win. Kudos to their defense. It kept them in the game and they were able to pull out the win on last drive of the game.

Mr. Sayers was a giant of a man. My neighbor for years, and his kids my friends. I can remember traveling down the valley and see the BV Tigers in the field practicing across from his house. I have in my possession a beautiful carving of a boot he made, given to me by his children after his death. He and his wife were wonderful down-to-earth people. Sadly he passed with ALS.

He made some tough kids and fielded some great football teams for sure. Not one kid spoke when he was addressing us, the respect we had for that man. You had to be tough, we played in that field after it had been cut and I remember the stalks would cut you wide open if you hit them right. Every practice started with “To the fence”. Man, I wonder how many miles I ran down to the fence and back. Then you’d do six inches and you’d better be “beatin’ your belly” the whole time. Lol.
What a privilege to be coached and taught by that man. Some serious talent played in the valley….Larry Perry, Mike Compton, Bryian Beavers, and Gary Ward to name a few. It was a unique blend of Tazewell and Richlands kids. I wouldn’t have traded that experience for playing for anyone else, including my own family.

Priceless!!!!

What Aidan Lowe did shows true display of good sportsmanship. Even though Patrick Henry lost, he took him time and went to console the Patrick Henry player, who was devastated by losing the game and telling him he did good, his team did good this year, don't let this lost get the best of you, plus prayed for him as well

Looks like will be the final. Proud of the dogs and the effort they gave. Final score not an indication of how hard an effort they gave

Hats off to Honaker's DC for making adjustments at the half.
Goodspeed wore down in the 2nd half playing both ways.
I believe Honaker shows the road to Salem goes through Fuller Field!!!

I hope Tigers come out in the 2nd half settled down. PH is a good team...Goodspeed isn't their only weapon. I think the Tigers in the 1st half had all their "eggs in one basket" labeled Goodspeed. Even though he is their catalyst and playmaker, it's evident PH isn't as one dimensional as I thought. That speaks to good coaching on PH part, paint a different picture then what's been hanging on the wall.

PH 22
Tigers 8

PH coach has a good game plan against the Tigers. Not a passing team, but they scored last TD on a pass.

Despite criticism, under Harris, Tazewell has really developed a culture of hard working kids. I don’t know them personally, but they seem like good kids and community support has grown steadily. Regardless of the outcome on Saturday, they deserve applause.

I can’t speak for all the seniors(I’m sure they all will) but I know my son will give 200% just like he has since his freshman year …..

No matter the outcome of this game Saturday, I just hope those Seniors leave it all on the field. I’ve watched this group grow up since they were little, as my own son grew up with them. Kind of feels like they’re my kids as well. Go Dogs!

tbgfan got a reaction from adsi97 in Virginia Playoffs: Take One.
I am happy for the Dawgs. Surprising, but awesome game. Gives them momentum for next week against the Bears. I am thinking of TJ, #11. How appropriate this playoff game in a decisive win, being played on 11-11.
Happy day...Dawgs win, Hokies win, Clemson wins and seal it with a win by the Georgia Bulldogs tonight.
GO DAWGS!!!!
