I think people didn’t realize how much Lebanon lost last year.  They weren’t even a powerhouse in 1D either. I thought this could get ugly unless the rivalry side of things kept it close for a while.

I agree. But I think the loss of Hertig to graduation hurt them the most.

One kid transferred last year that plays varsity sports. About 9 6th and 7th graders did this year.

Most are 7th, 8th, and underclass. Senior Cole is a 2 way player from Richlands. Bandy originally from Richlands, but transferred just prior to high school, I believe.

Honaker would have been good this season, regardless. Those 2 are huge assets and play both ways.

I think so. Marion didn't look bad against Honaker in their scrimmage. They were decent.

I talked about penalties last night. Honaker was flagged 11 times for 110 yards. Gotta clean that up. Lebanon was flagged 3 times for 13 yards.

What were the majority of the penalties? Holding? Something else?

Aaron Lowe recruited his kids buddies. His middle school kids buddies. By the time they reach the high school level,  he should have enough people brainwashed and will have control of football and girls basketball. So, current head coaches, pay attention and keep your resume handy…..or….or….he will piss enough people off and it will be a rerun of his Richlands shitshow.   My popcorn is ready. 🍿

It was 84 at kickoff, and that was with a thunderstorm rolling through to "cool" it down. Really muggy though, with no air stirring. Western went on to a 14 - 10 win on a poorly drained saturated field that made the footing tough. Western has a lot of talent with three 4 star guys and two 3 star guts. Their QB (Davi Balfourt) is committed to VA Tech.
