    Graham vs Bluefield

I think Graham has the people to match big plays. What Graham needs to do is lean on them every play. If you are bigger and stronger you lean on your opponent the whole time. Make them feel the mismatch every play. Graham has a young QB. You protect him by not putting him in a position to win the game for you, and not putting him in a position where he can loose it for you. He’ll come along.

  2. If Gate City can defend the screen pass they win easy. In Grundy game that's the only thing that worked for the Blues passing game, going deep, or even going to wide outs on short patterns wasn't working except when Grundy's defence missed assignments. Running game is almost non-existant and the line on both sides of the ball is young. I'll always pull for the Blues and hope for a win, but in this year I think the wins will be few and far between. Good luck to all the players and coaches, and to the fans, remember that even if your team looses, the players are trying their best and need your support regardless of what the scoreboard shows at the end iof the game. GO BIG BLUE!!!!

    Graham vs Bluefield

Central Woodstock returned that favor on behalf of the Wolfpack. Talk about gutsy but they got the first down! In the end it didn’t help them but it was a great play!

    Graham vs Bluefield

This analysis is spot on. Good ole Freddy always has a trick play or two up his sleeve. For Graham to win, they have to stop the big play. That’s what kept Bluefield in the game last year when Graham should have shut them down. A 27-12 lead at halftime shouldn’t end in a 29-25 win, even though Graham won. Bluefield always has the mental advantage for whatever reason. Palmer has done a good job at changing that aspect. Graham has to get over the fact that the team lining up against them has that beaver on the jersey.

  5. Not possible I tell you!. He ran the ball for us very well out of the single wing against Christiansburg. He's a single wing man now.

  6. He played for Bluefield against Abingdon too. Caught a TD that night too.😂

  7. They ain’t either way, not downing the blues, but I rode by there the other day and they look really young for the most part. Time will tell, and time will only make them better. I’ve said it several times, you’re not gonna be the worst and you’re not gonna be the best forever. Unless your a Dallas fan that is

  8. Keys for Graham: Play smart, stay in your lanes, don't make stupid penalties. Get the mental block out of your head, you have beaten this team twice in a row now - Graham is the favorite, they need to believe that. Keys for Bluefield: Capitalize on your possessions, protect the Quarterback and play keep away from Graham. Hold on to the football.

  9. If you watched the fight, he 100% beat Hager. Bullshit decision. Jake Hager is a former pro wrestler, Jack Swagger.

  13. Draft and Christiansburg might both be tougher games than Woodstock. I know Riverheads dominated Staunton last year. That game will be much closer this year. Staunton is a lot better. I favor Riverheads in all of them games, but Central might be the 4th best team on Riverheads schedule when all is said and done.

  14. The argument can definitely be made that Hackney wasn't used to his potential as a ball carrier but RV needed a H-Back that could catch, and Gabe fit the bill perfectly. Imo his time at H-Back helped make him a complete Back now. The kid can do anything they need and they're gonna need him to protect and lead for O'Quinn

  15. Graham needs to make some risky/gutsy calls. Like doing a fake punt on 4th and 20 on their side of the field like they did against Ridgeview last season 😂

  16. The difference in this game imo is Graham stopping the big play from Bluefield which will give Graham's inexperienced QB time to get comfortable as the season goes along. Meaning....Graham's going to be run heavy early on and that will kill lots of clock and shorten games (clock keeps moving) until the QB and passing game come along. If the game is shortened against an opponent you are probably better than, the last thing you want to do is allow that opponent to score with Big plays. It's unlikely, especially with the loss of Hairston, that Bluefield is simply going to drive the field with 12 to 14 play drives and score on Graham's defense more than 2 times in this game. This means if you're Graham, don't allow the big play. Bluefield will be playing run on defense knowing the QB is young and inexperienced. Graham will have about 3 to 4 occasions in this game where a WR is running completely wide open. Graham needs to go 1 for 2 (50% of these need to be throws that hit the receiver). If Graham does this by not allowing the big play on defense, and they can connect on 50% of what will be 3 or 4 times in this game where a WR is running wide open, they win. If Graham goes 1 for 4 or 0 for 4 on those occasional moments where they have a WR running wide open and the ball doesn't get there or is overthrown, and if Bluefield hits 2 huge big plays to score quick without being forced to drive the field for points, Bluefield will win the game. or the game will go right down to the wire with Bluefield having a chance to win Just my opinions and that opinion is LIMITED. I watched Graham against James Monroe and I watched Bluefield only for a 2 minute or so clip against Staunton, so again I admit, a very limited opinion.

  17. If I'm Tazewell, I'm tackling him. Meaning, I would emphasize it all week and make someone else beat me. Obviously, easier said than done, but I would put 8 in the box if I'm Tazewell, walk another into the box at the snap, and play one on one coverage ALL GAME against Riverheads. If you beat me in the air one on one, then good job, good pass. If someone else running the ball fools me as we over pursue 3C, then good job, you fooled us and scored. I would sale the house on 3C. Forget about the "knockout blow" to CCC. Work on that all week. Just get his arse to the ground. Hold 3C to under 100 yds if you are the Dogs, and you have your best chance to pull the upset. The above is nice on paper and easy to speak. It's very hard to do on the field; otherwise, more teams would have been successful at doing it against the Red Team over the years. Go Dogs!!!!!!

  18. While I would love to see the big red machine fall I think they win by 21+ CCC is the real deal and it’s gonna take a special defense to keep him in check.

  19. I sure hope so, but Riverheads is a machine and Cook-Cash will be one of the best players in 2A football this year, if not the best. (I still say Clements has a much better skill set, but CC is big and fast and has some elusiveness - tough combination for a HS kid). Riverheads always has a great line and run excellent blocking schemes. Tazewell is going to have to have great play from the linebackers and secondary to come up and make plays, without letting CC get behind them or to the edge. If he gets to the edge, he is gone. Tazewell had trouble keeping Carroll County from getting to the edge a few times for big gainers, those will be TD's for Riverheads, if that happens. Tazewell's passing offense is something that Riverheads hasn't seen much of, they're used to playing running teams. If the Bulldogs can spread them out and let Creasy pick them apart and capitalize on their possessions, I feel they can make a game of it. Creasy will have to get rid of the ball quick, Riverheads line is imposing and will bring a lot of pressure. Looking forward to seeing how the Bulldogs do. I'm hoping for a close game, like the one a couple 2 or 3 years back up at Riverheads, when Tazewell gave them all wanted.
