Union had open WRs whenever they did throw the ball, so I’d imagine a similar situation this week if Strasburg can run the ball effectively. 
 
Interesting matchup in my mind is the Strasburg secondary against the Glenvar WRs. Glenvar will be missing a key weapon, 6, but I’m not sure if the opposing secondary can limit the open throws as much has last week. Unions front seven got a lot of love but the back end is very, very good for a HS team. They did a very good job limiting big plays most of the game and made a lot of throws turn into check downs or easy outside breaking routes.

I just knew leaving at least seven points, if not 14 points, on the field against that offense would end up being the  difference.  No offense to any 2D teams but Union could afford to leave those points against the other teams. Against that offense and that physical defense on Saturday, they could not make up the gap. The defense did their job, to hold Glenvar to 21 points and 155 yards you have to think you’re winning in that case. That last scramble by Dawyot, on third and long, to get in the end zone was just gigantic. If you can force a FG there, you win the game. But the fumble on the first trip at the end of the half was just bad execution and I don’t love Chandler taking the wildcat snap. The last two times they tried that, against RV then last week, it was a fumble. Id rather see them let Bostic take the snap and hand it off, same as the 2pt attempt. I don’t hate the decision at the end or the call at all, just wish it played out differently.

Going for 2 was gutsy.  The blocked fg earlier may have played into that decision too. I will 2nd that.  I had Union going all the way.  When they came away with no points on those 2 possessions inside the 5, I had a bad feeling.  

Great read.  Both of those Dawyot kids were excellent players and seemed like great kids. I’ll go to the grave believing we had the better team and let this one get away but they were an elite team that made plays when it counted.

Jesus Christ guys, you’re basically accusing people of a crime here. If you guys are adamant people know and didn’t report, it’s a crime. So just remember what you’re actually doing by implying people knew.  If we are solely talking about the situation at the HS, I see zero reason as to why any other coach would have known.

But if you just have a hunch with no real evidence, are you really gonna go over your boss, the HC, and report vibes? It’s a tough spot and for the record I do not believe Edwards or Bostic had any clue at all. If they had, I guarantee they’d have turned it in. It’s not worth losing your job too for failure to report. There may have been whispers, I truly don’t know, but no one knew the situation was unfolding like it was until the shit hit the fan.

It’s amazing how much the legal system protects those who have no legal right to properties. 

I wasn’t trying to refer to you man, I think you’ve been pretty level headed. It’s just people are awful quick to push those allegations on people. I can’t pretend like I know everything that went on but from the story I know, I would be shocked if anyone in the program knew ahead of time and I feel like the wheels got rolling very quickly after the allegations were made.

Yes…. There’s a tractor repair shop east of the stadium. The property between the stadium fence and the repair shop is forest like. If you park in the tractor shop lot and walk through the bushes and up the hill you will be at the stadium fence. Dad and I scoped this out years ago for scientific reasons. 

The Union coaches, Jay and Kory, deserve so much credit for stepping in and being able to keep them focused.  Our fans in the stands can be idiots at times but anyone being too hard on those guys needs perspective. They didn’t sign up for this, they were thrust into it and lost a state semi by a point. 

Edwards deserves it if he wants it.
