If Graham gives them 12 points again right off the bat, it’s going to be tough to pull out a win. Graham is capable of winning but not letting the Bearcats have a run like that at the beginning of the game. 

It doesn't matter how or why JM is doing it, or if it somehow falls within the rules of the VHSL. They are clearly on another level from everyone else in the state. 
High school classifications exist for the SOLE reason of promoting fairness. If we don't care about fairness let's just do like KY and everybody play everybody for the state. 
Everyone knows it's a joke, some of the Class 2 administrators need to make a stand and say enough with this crap, we aren't going along with this farce. Make them play Class 6 or something and allow the real class 2 schools to play each other. 
How on earth Ty White and his team would even WANT a bunch of Class 2 trophies is beyond me. I mean, you got a team full of power 5 players, congrats for being the best of 50 class 2 schools who might have a handful of low level college players on all 50 teams combined. Where is their pride???
What if Oak Hill didn't exist and Steve Smith just decided to coach Marion and bring all those guys in and Marion mopped the floor with every team in the state for years and years. You think the folks on the other side of the state would have been ok with that? Absolutely not.

I’m guessing Virginia High wanted to play at home , don’t blame them & Graham was a no go for that.

Maybe they could have done rock, paper, scissors , best two of three…I mean there are worse ways to decide a neutral venue 😂

Alyssa didn’t hold back in her post game interviews. She told them all the refs were “absolutely awful!!!”

I heard that no one could agree on a venue change so it reverted back to Gate City.
And I thought the only time coaches couldn't agree was in all-district meetings... 

Personally, I think they should have played it in Council. 

Graham vs VA High Saturday at 7pm at Gate City.

They usually do this at a neutral. Could it possibly be Richlands? It’s the mid-point between the two.  

Every.single.game. 

The pendulum swings too far both ways.  I would not want to go back to the 70's type coaching.  To be brutally honest, a lot of damn good kids were "run" off for a myriad of bad reasons.  Looking back at that era, it was complete inflexibility and kids had no options.  Now, the kids have too much influence and coaches are too beholden to the parents in a hope of retaining talent. 
Be consistent, fair and coach up and develop your kids.  Some will leave, it happens.  Stay the course. If this guy was hired simply because a kid liked him, it will work itself out.  
 

I'm thinking they'll announce assistants next month after the next school board meeting.  Several new staff with a few holdovers...well, counting HC as "new" since he is new to that role.  

Graham went up 8-0 to start the game, then led 21-16 at halftime, then jaydyn carrico blitz Graham with 19 in the 3rd quarter, she had 9 at halftime and ended up with 36, Graham won every quarter but the 4th, the M7 is just on a different level in girls but still the best game of the night 

Somebody should stand up to JM and do something crazy at the state final game.
What if you inbound the ball straight to them every time you got it? Let them just shoot layup after layup for 32 min. Make a total mockery of the game.
It would probably make sportscenter when they beat a team 300-0 or whatever it would be.
That would embarrass JM and the VHSL so bad they would do something and it would be the end of JM in class 2. 

Graham was in control almost all game tonight.   

Ray had a game & 1/2 and I believe Disibbo had 4- 3pointers and was open several other times. It was a good game for the GMen! I worry about them getting in foul trouble though if they’re not careful. I’m a little surprised Baker didn’t bring up a couple of JV players. 

Kick that cup of tea on over and fill us in.
 

Team wise, Mozell has a lot of weapons around him. Lebanon has 2 guys in the running and the rest of the team has been pretty mediocre from what i’ve read. 2 kids have seemed to carried the load the entire season.

Graham has been on again, off again all season. Disibbio is one of the more consistent players. He definitely needs more playing time. The Fix kid is fun to watch too. Graham can win tomorrow night at the SWD tournament semis, depending on which Graham team shows up. 

Graham laid an egg like they did in Marion last week.   No energy, 6 out the 8 kids have been taking breathing treatments for week and not feeling well.  They seem to go through the motions tonight on nfhs till mid 4th when made a run to cut to 3 after being down 17.  The Disibbio kind needs more time on the floor.  He doesn’t miss many and makes things happen.  

Should be 2 great games Friday night, hopefully Graham doesn’t come out flat and the kids are healthy by end of week

Hearing similar things.  It will be a joint venture with tcps and the town of Bluefield, Va.  It will be used for rec leagues and school functions, similar to the gyms behind Graham High School.  Just hope they make it nice and don't try to do the bare minimum.

You never know about kids. Some surprise in other ways. Keep your eyes on the former Graham player at ODU named Gage Sawyers. He was kind of an under the radar player in the region even though he was first team All State. I've heard good things about him at ODU. You may see a situation kind of opposite of Adkins where this kid takes off. He was highly underestimated in my opinion coming out of High School.
Mike Compton out of High School was good and an All State type, but few thought he would become a first team All American and 11 year NFL starter and a near miss for All Pro (next guy up that got outvoted) 5 times. Sometimes, they go the other way. Heck, Bill Dudley if we go back to the 1940s is an example. A scrawny little kid UVA just took a chance on and a "good" High School player but nothing special or elite, and of course....NFL Hall of Famer. 
Unfortunately, more times than not, it goes the other way and the above are exceptions to the rule. Jury is out on Sawyers. He's one to keep an eye on.
