#BBN reacted to Ol Dawg in Trenton Adkins, is he even stoppable? Over 1000 yards in 3 games!
This young man has had an amazing start!  No question.  But Ridgeview has yet to play anyone that is a traditional power.  I mean no offense to Central with that.  This years team may very well be the best they have ever had.  If Adkins can put those numbers up against Abingdon and Union, then hold the phone because he could really make alot of noise.  Looking forward to when we play them.  But for now, I'm ready to head to WV and see what Mr Lester and co do this year.

Bullitt Park? Yes, many times. Including PV/App '97. Which I believe will be the best high school game I will ever attend. As for Blues/Bears? I haven't. Although I did attend Richlands/PV games in the past. For this week though I still think Chilhowie/JIB will be a more competitive game but all the fun happens Friday night and we shall see.

I think it's not a good sign for football, when it's week 2 and Lee fans are already looking ahead to hoops season.  Lol.

I agree, I am not saying they are the caliber of Abingdon or Ridgeview, but I could see them giving Union and the rest of the M7 a fit.......I may be wrong, but they definitely have improved over the last few years.

Not seen either team, so its hard to say what will happen Friday night. When these two teams play it always turns out to be a really good game.  From what I have heard Union will rely on defense a lot through the year, and from my understanding their D played lights out against Lee.  Not sure that Lee can be used as a good measuring stick with it being the first game under a new coach and not a very polished offense.  Union O seemed to be pretty solid with the run game, and from what I was told Gibson at QB threw the ball well and had a deep pass that was a beautiful ball but was dropped........
I am exciting to see this game.....

Richlands when Devon was at RB. We all know the passing game is always great, but Devon made it impossible to sit back and defend the pass.

Haysi '13 and '14. I know '13 had around 3,000 yards rushing and over 2,000 passing. '14 was probably more balanced than that

Exactly BigWinners, I have known and been around Chris since I was very young, he used to join in on our back yard whiffle ball/baseball games, and has supported Appalachia, Powell Valley, and now Union with everything in him!!!
I am sure he has done wrong or said some things he shouldn't have said, but everybody in this world has done that, and made things right and moved on.
In my high school playing days, I can remember him calling me Mike Piazza, and would say I was one of the bash brothers!! In football, you never had to worry about walking to get water, a towel, or anything from the sidelines.
I have reffed 8th grade, JV football, or youth football, and a kid would get hurt, and Chris would come out and ask the kids name and go off to the side and start praying for the kid!!! Everytime I have seen Chris, he will always shake my hand, and before he left he would say I love ya man.
To me this is a slap in the face to anybody with a disabled or mentally challenged kid, and is a big @$×+ you, we don't care about you type attitude. The behavior that has been allowed to go on is disrespectful, senseless, and down right shameful. What are we teaching the future generations, that it is okay to treat some with disrespect, and just blame it on boys being boys..........I am far from innocent when it comes to doing disrespectful things as a kid, teenager, but I was taught and raised better than to think it was okay to pick on/humiliate someone with a disability, and was disciplined accordingly.
As for Chris supposedly roaming the halls of the school during school hours, I don't know if that is true, and if it is I can understand the administration wanting to stop it, but at 330 he should be welcome to come and volunteer his time and support! He has done it 30+ years and has never asked for anything in return. This whole event disgust me, for Chris, for the community, and the school itself.  The things done to Chris, was set aside and overlooked because Chris was willing to forgive and turn the other cheek.......and in the end he is the one who is being punished because he was mistreated.
Accountability needs to take place for the actions done by the people who made fun of Chris, and vandlized his property. Everybody take a step back, and put yourself in Chris's shoes or Chris's family's shoes, how would you feel, what would you do?

Could be a tough team, with the return of McCamis, and Hayes, Bishop, Allison, Mullins, Colley, and Brickey.......a senior loaded team with alot of talent........should be very interesting to see how they fair in the M7 and Region D!

Really they are the favorites in Region D. Best team from Wise/Pound since Pound went to state. I’m not sure how teams are going to defend them if you put McAmis and Hayes on same side of floor.

Heard Central has a lot of size this year. They are playing great in team camps and playing as a team. With Hayes and Isaiah both on the floor, they will be hard to stop. Also have a lot of size under the goal..
Better watch out for the Warriors this year!!

Is this the best performance from a pitcher in the VHSL State softball game?
I know Todd Zirkle pitched a no hitter in baseball, struck out 12.......that is impressive......this girl has dominated the last 3 years in softball with well over 800 strikeouts and over 300 for one season...........love seeing the local talent stand out and do well in this area.
Congrats Richlands on your title, and good luck Lebanon Pioneers!

They have attempted to bunt a lot throughout the game. A few strike 3 bunts foul even.  This isnt a bush league situation but a style of play for Madison I would believe.  Plus its 1-0 in the title game, you do whatever gives you the best chance to win.

This kid sounds like the type of kid that any coach would love to be able to coach.  Doing amazing things on the mound, and overcoming the adversity with the knee injury.
639 strikeouts for her career, that is an amazing number..........how old is this kid?
Any schools recruiting her??? If not i'd be very surprised........

Whether you deem that officiating has gotten worse or better (most would argue at the upper levels even it has gotten much worse in recent years) adjusting the structure of the AOA was the proper thing to do.  Its probably the best thing for the schools also in reality.

I wish VA wasnt such a stickler about games played so our teams could make a bigger impact in the Eastman tourney.  There are some great teams there every year.
