I think it was 6-0.  RV just can't piece together consecutive baseball classes.  They are freshman heavy with a few juniors..one starting senior and I don't think any sophomores....probably will start 4-5 freshman and 5-6 will see playing time.  They have a talented middle school team that is very heavy with 7th graders with three quality 8th graders.  They will struggle this year, will be better next year and, I believe, considerably better in two seasons.  When the current freshman class are juniors and seniors, it will probably be the most competitive team RV has fielded.  

MaxPreps final class 2A rankings for girls has Wise Central #1, Ridgeview #2, and Gate City #3 proving once again that the Mountain 7 is the top conference in VA. If you take Wise out of the equation then Ridgeview probably has at least 2 state titles and Gate City possibly has 1-2.  The addition of the Union girls after losing Looney definitely put Wise in the drivers seat again this year and with the way Union played in the second half of the season, they would have been strong contenders had those girls stayed.  With that being said, Ridgeview may be the only team in SWVA that has not benefited from transfers, so hats off to those girls for what they accomplished this season.

For some odd reason, I don't know the living arrangements of every kid in SWVA.

You don't have a clue do you know how many kids are zone for dobyns Bennett but go to gate city and vice versa, do you know how many kids are zone for Va High but go to John Battle or TN High and the other way around, nothing is legit it's real easy to beat the system. Wise Central is recruiting like crazy, Trivette and the other best player just didn't wake up in abingdon they were recruited, everybody is recruiting but John Marshall is doing it better than everybody else, you act like it's the end of the world that a bunch of 14-18yrs old win class 2 state title 

The irony is that Graham fans are mad about a coach recruiting players and bringing them in from other schools.  I mean....a bit of self-reflection?  😜
That being said, VHSL has to do something about John Marshall.  At least the G-Men are relegated to two states and 3-4 county recruiting footprint.

I'm not mad at all. I recognize the irony. Can't throw stones if you live in a glass house. Many others should live by that same philosophy.

If Central doesn't exist I still think a M7 wins in their stead about 3-4 of those championships (Ridgeview and Gate City specifically).  That is crazy.

If not for Central, Ridgeview girls have 2-3 additional state championships.  Timing is such a big factor.

So, they have now made 1st Team actually two teams and 2nd Team two teams as well and still do an Honorable mention?? Folks, we have jumped the shark.  Am I the only that things the same people who complain about participation trophies are the ones recognizing almost 25 kids for district honors. How about three Gs and 3 F/C for 1st team and 2nd team each and then give 5 Honorable mention. Is that too stringent?

that took me an hour to research bc the VHSL SUCKS. No comprehensive list and MaxPreps sucks and is so hard to navigate. But you’re 1,000% correct. The M7 is the SEC of the 2010s in 2A girls basketball. Not even close.

Edit-Didn’t the Abingdon girls make a really deep run recently or was that just the boys team? Boys lost a title game IIRC but thought maybe the girls did too. I can’t remember tho. 

He is.  I’m BSG thru and thru and I loathe anything Central, esp in boys sports, but trying to argue Kam, who’s a very good player, is a better player than Hayes is being disingenuous. 

who gets it? Ean Hayes and who deserves it is Ean Hayes.  Idk where Kam Bostic even came into the picture, maybe daddy revolving the whole game around him.  Ean has scored against everyone even when the whole time the central offense was centered around ethan. 

Whoever it ends up being, I hope they try to build character and sportsmanship first and x's and o's 2nd.  Of course, I would hope that for any team....

Not sure who the administration will pick but they have to be over the moon with the pool of applicants they have to choose from

I’ve heard plenty of racial slurs at about every stadium in this area. Including at Union, Central, and GC. Let’s not tag this just on RV fans. 

Not a shooter to be found amongst them.
