The credit for Graham's resurgence goes to Tony for the most part. Having a head coach that doesn't a dictatorship and surrounds himself with knowledgeable coaches who make the game fun is what it's all about. Dennis Palmer has been a TREMENDOUS addition to the staff. 
Yubrenal was mention above. Sitting in the stands listening to Yubrenal and Big Mike on the sidelines gets me fired up. Im old as dirt and they get me to thinking I could Lawrence Taylor over. Great guys. The list doesn't stop with them. Rex Bradshaw, Dissibio, Cooke, Davis, P. Bradshaw, Dixon, etc. are all great coaches.

I think Coach Palmer has a good mix of discipline and forgiveness. His time as a police officer has helped him very much. Players want to play for him. He comes from old school but doesn't force that attitude at all costs. Players want to play for him. 

Coach Palmer and his staff have this Graham team getting better every week. They look hard to beat in all aspects of the game. The only possible weakness is kick off coverage and to this point that hasn't really hurt them. Congrats G-Men!! Gotta say too that I was impressed by how many Union fans made the trip today! They showed great support for their Bears.

Watching the game vs Lee I thought the same thing about them being well coached and having a creative playbook. Lee just wasn't nearly as talented as Graham.

Well Lee’s best season in recent memory comes to an end. Good group of kids in that senior class, #54 Lovell especially is a hell of a football player despite his attitude sometimes. They return a lot next year and will only be getting better. I see them earning a legit spot in the playoffs with an above .500 record. Their most important steps to make this off-season needs to be defense, weight room and film room. If that defense can actually make people work for their scores instead of 1-2 play drives then they will have a ton of success. Offensively they made leaps and bounds compared to last year, even if they’re scoring on the jv bunch they still move the ball well. Carroll has done a good job in his first season, hope they can get a bigger turnout next year and keep turning the program in the right direction

Word travels fast, Union had scouts recording the Gmen at practice today! No one would have know it was Union but they kept screaming "terrible call, that's not a hold" and blowing a train horn! 😆

It would be nice if Bluefield had a newspaper in town that actually cared about local athletics and reported on it accordingly...

Bradshaw is still the fastest on the field that I've seen so far this year. Again, Graham cut down on the dumb penalties!! It was one of those games that even though you have a big lead you didn't ever feel comfortable until there just wasn't enough time for a comeback. V-High is a very good team with some great athletes. Graham is just playing great football and clicking on all cylinders now. Looking forward to see how the G-Men match up at Pulaski!

Huge kudos to the G-Men for cutting way down on the penalties! Hard to remember a Graham game where they had so few flags.

This is what happens when you have town that votes in those with IQ's of less than 70- (that classifies as mentally retarded).  There's no wonder that town has wicked economic issues and much higher rates of crime than most realize.  What's going on in the past 25 years on the Bluefield, VA, side of the border and that development could have all been on the other side of the line with a little intelligence, leadership, and forethought.  Well.............see sentence number one in this paragraph as to why that is not the case.  A town with what could be considered an economic crisis and what do they do, they cut off a self money maker and shoot themselves in the foot again.  What's the old saying........"you keep banging your head against the wall and continue to ask why it hurts each time you do it, and you continue to do it in order to expect a different result."   That's the leadership (not the individual people or normal citizens) but the leadership (town council) in Bluefield, WV, over the years.  I know it fluctuates and there are some good ones, but overall, if looking at the whole picture over the last 30 years, its' been a shi*show when referring to the town council.  As for 99% of the individual citizens in Bluefield, WV, that I've ever met.....class act-good people like every other town in SWVA coverage area (minus Narrows of course).  Relax Narz, I'm kidding.

Railyard is very good...but if you wanna go a little more affordable and want a great burger the Bluefield Sports Bar and Grill has the best homemade burgers in town. It's kind of a hole in the wall place and nothing fancy but great food as well.

I reckon a kid farted in 2nd period today. Whole school is quarantined for 2 weeks now.

its all made up as we go. no real structure or  reasons why they do stuff. its just do as i say and dont ask why!!!

I have to disagree on the flag football being safer. My sons played flag football where we lived prior to moving to VA. There were way more injuries without the pads. I saw more head injuries, busted mouths, teeth knocked out (even with a mouthpiece in), and broken clavicles were often seen. Kids still collide hard into each other in flag football and there is nothing there to protect them. I'm of the opinion to play with pads and try to teach correct technique in tackling and blocking. This was when they were 5-7 years old, then they went into pads at eight.

Thad Wells is now the Lane Kiffin of Richlands. Though Kiffin won more games.
