Ryan4VT 4,554 Report Share Posted December 6, 2016 Story I'm getting from the Draft side is that the 2nd penalty could have been questionable, but the kid's behavior in response to it was not. Apparently his resistance to leaving the field and then his behavior on the sideline after the ejection (kicking equipment and ranting) made a definite impression. Very regrettable because that part was completely avoidable and was probably the deciding factor. He stayed on the field until the ref escorted him off. I've never seen a player NOT do that. I didn't see him kick anything and I couldn't hear him, but what I saw was him slumped over on the fence crying his eyes out, realizing that his career was over. It's a flat out horrible way for an all-time Richlands player to end his career, but it is what it is. Richlands will play the game with 11 on the field, and I'll take those 11 over any other 11 ten times out of ten. Irishman

And it's almost as good as A. I've eaten at one restaurant that had a B sanitation rating, a seafood buffet in Carolina Beach. Never again. swva_havok_fan

Bigrhsfan 884 Report Share Posted December 6, 2016 I say we leave the kid alone now. He's paying a high price for what he did/didn't do so that's it. No need to keep talking about it. he is a high school kid, granted not for much longer , but for now he is. Richlands will play with what they have and no excuses for whatever outcome happens. parsons, Ryan4VT, trublue and 5 others

One of those instances where you're genuinely curious but too afraid to ask. We looked for obvious indicators but never saw any. Guessing the kitchen was Kafka-esque. Must have been storing heroin at room temperature. Stuff like that. Also, it was a 77 rating. So it was almost a C+
GHS89 77 Report Share Posted December 6, 2016 Wow. You guys are so close to staying on the high ground on this issue, but continue to slip just a little off the path. I'm actually disappointed it was appealed. What if it had been overturned? What would it have served? What would have been the message going beyond Saturday? I'm glad someone's level headednesss prevailed. EHC87

RichlandsAlum 678 Report Share Posted December 6, 2016 Restaurant closed a couple of months after our visit, and I thought the whole chain had gone belly up. But apparently there are still a few shops left in upstate NY (nowhere near where we dined, BTW). Check them out if you're in Rochester or Livonia: http://eastsidemariosusa.com Also forgot to mention that we were really hungry. And there was probably drinking involved. I made a trip to Fort Drum last year for a legal issue, but thankfully I did not see this place around. I was jonesing for Italian, too. This was the place for me: http://www.finsrestaurant.com Never mind the awful Google reviews, or the 86 sanitation score, or the steep prices ($26.95 for 1, drink not included). My cousin just HAD to eat here. So we did. And it was stomach-turning. Food had obviously set on that bar all day long, at substandard temps, and was greasy to a level that even I wouldn't touch it. Baked stuff was rubbery and bland. Service was mediocre-poor...not the worst, but below-average. And after all this, my cousin didn't see the error in leaving $0.00 as a tip. He claimed that he didn't have enough money to leave a tip, despite knowing in advance how much this place cost. I lit into him like you wouldn't freaking believe. EHC87 60 Report Share Posted December 6, 2016 I remember that Mcsorley kid. Never watched him play but thats when BW was really good. Had that Carter kid too that went to Stanford i believe. I recall seeing Harrisonburg and BW as i was leaving the 3a title game in 2010. Harrisonburg had some huge kids and BW looked really small. Was thinking Harrisonburg would destroy them. Wasnt the case. Best dual threat quarterback that I saw in high school was Shawn Moore of Martinsville. His passing was under rated in my opinion. Very strong arm and accurate as well. That team also had Nikki Fisher as its' running back. Fisher was very, very good as well. Both Moore and Fisher had very good careers at UVA. local_insight 146 Report Share Posted December 6, 2016 Even with Richlands loosing their best player, I say this lights a fire under them. Richlands comes out hot on both sides of the ball and get the win. 21-14 Richlands for the 2016 AA State Championship. swva_havok_fan 1,261 Report Share Posted December 6, 2016 It's definitely a nice facility. Unless it has changed since 2010, we paid one price and watched both games. It's still that way... as long as you don't exit the stadium between games, you don't have to pay for the second game. Two games for $10 is not bad. mv91
mv91 259 Report Share Posted December 6, 2016 I agree with Local insight, Richlands will be even more fired up due to the suspension than they already should be. Just playing in a State Title game should be enough motivation on its own but a little extra motivation sure won't hurt!!! Richlands will have to bring an A plus effort and ride that emotion for all 4 quarters and hope to cause some turnovers against Appo. Richlands hopefully will go into this game with a nothing to lose mentality as the big underdog. But I would think that how Richlands played Appo for 3 1/2 quarters last year should give them confidence as well. Very much looking forward to Saturday!! GOOD LUCK TO THE BLUES!!! Dick_Vitale 342 Report Share Posted December 6, 2016 I have a weird feeling about this game. Appo on paper is stronger in almost every aspect, however, something tells me Richlands is going to win this one in OT. Jumpball to Scotty Ball in the back of the endzone! I mean one can wish right? lol In all honesty, Appo SHOULD win but that is why they play the games. Richlands will come in, like Appo, fired up but I feel like Richlands will play with more of a chip on their shoulder due to the suspension. mv91 and Ryan4VT
