I think 1A West as a whole is down this year. Galax is young, inexperienced, small and lack depth. George Wythe has been inconsistent with a lot of infighting surrounding the football program. I see changes on the horizon after talking to some friends over there. Burton and Honaker are both rebuilding. Hurley isn't nearly as talented as in recent years. Radford and Fort Chiswell are no longer 1A programs. Truthfully, Riverheads should be 2A as well. According to the VADOE website, they have had a higher enrollment than Fort Chiswell and Radford 7 of the past 10 years. Unless something crazy happens, they will repeat with relative ease.

Good deal man. Might have to do that. Ha ha! I think Heather at WCYB is finally coming around a little bit on Wolfpack Nation. Other than that, yeah still not a lot of love. Heck, even the Dickenson Star makes mistakes on a regular basis covering our events from what I hear, so when you can't even get love from your own local paper who covers you... Even though I am from Dickenson County originally, I actually live in Bristol now, so other than one game on the Tennessee side which sounded appealing (Johnson County at Happy Valley), this is the only other intriguing game on the docket tomorrow night, and I have already seen Johnson County this year, so made this game a little easier to choose.

I was there for that. Had it happened in the first game of the day to the team from the SWVA, it may not have been handled as well by the fan base. And I couldn't blame them either. That was rough. Maybe the worst screw job I've ever witnessed in person.

Unions original helmets were some of the best white helmets ive seen. Just fantastic looking with the Navy/Orange U logo The general rule ive come up with is that the helmets have to have all of the colors that are going to be used in the uniform. If the unis have gold but the helmets don't it will look weird.

True I’m not trying to say anything bad about richlands. Very tough schedule probably the toughest 2a schedule in the state. I just don’t think you can write off any easy easy wins against this union team

From the get go, regions should be redrawn to where each one has roughly the same amount of teams...that's the starting place for any realignment or change IMO.

2 helmets? thats not going to happen,they are closing maybe 2 schools next year over a budget crunch, thats unless of course the football boosters buy them like at RICHLANDS, but there is also the MANCE FACTOR over there

I think it’s because all the coaches now are Tennessee fans it’s wonders they’ve not changed there color to orange . I liked the old uniforms better my self but I kind of like the new helmets though

Hate that the dogs numbers are down like they are, and I hope they get back up. The Blues win this game early and big, running clock by the start of the 3rd.
