Congrats to Graham on another title.  Best defense at Graham (for its era) since 1989.  Glenvar wouldn't be a sure win over Strasburg. Glenvar would give them major problems in the air, but they would cause Glenvar issues on the ground. I would favor Glenvar by 7. With Union and their inability to pass it much, Strasburg by 7 over Union. Graham's offense wasn't the typical prolific explosive Graham offense, but it also might be the most balanced offense at Graham in many years.

Hopefully Radford can get by Glenvar and clip Graham or Union next year. We will be pretty good. Talking with Graham fans yesterday, I was told our chances to get them would be next year if at all, because 2026, 27, and 28 would be bordering on little to no chance with what's in the pipeline.

Congrats Graham. Heck of a program.

Next year, Graham will lose quite a bit of talent, but return most of the line.  They have some youngsters coming up in Bradshaw, Banks and Cooper that will have playmaking ability along with Cambel Fix.  Lilly,Palmerand Roberts will return as well.  I think they will still be right in the mix again.  They have a lot of athleticism at the skill positions and size on the line coming up with the 8th grade class.  When they are sophomores, juniors and seniors, along with our current batch of sophomores and freshmen, Graham will have some very, very good teams

The officials painted themselves in a corner. They called Oscar Smith for the same thing when they scored with less than 30 seconds. O Smith made their 35 yd extra point to go up by 7.

IMO, and that of the announcers, neither of the "celebrations' appeared excessive considering the circumstances.

Sometimes the best call is the one you don't make.

They return everyone on the line except for the center.

I was very impressed with Graham offensively. The coaching staff had them boys well prepared on both sides of the ball.

Just came to add !!!!!! to this post. I don’t think Strasburg could figure out any adjustments that would give them an advantage offensively or defensively against Graham. The offensive plan & play calling were excellent, execution by the players was on point . Defensively, Graham figured out how to combat all that misdirection & had athletes to accomplish it. Strasburg ran into a brick wall against this Graham team. GMen were comfortable on the big stage and lived up to the moment. Strasburg got punched in the mouth. No shame in getting beat in Salem, how many teams didn’t get there but State championship was most definitely played last week at Mitchell. If I’m Tony Palmer, I do whatever it takes to make sure my entire coaching staff returns, high quality coaching team!

A funny observation, the NFHS announcers said at the beginning of the game, Graham’s key to a victory was establishing a run game 😂😂😂😂

Those guys were awful.  I turned the sound down and re-watched it.

Congrats to Graham.

Do these NFHS announcers that the VHSL use have any pride on their work. I know they are all most likely from Eastern or Northern Virginia. However, if your going to call a state title game for a team from Region 1 or 2 D can you at least watch a few streams of their games on NFHS to have a clue about the teams you are about to announce for.

Probably because they couldn’t care less about our teams in Region D and hope we lose. The announcers were just as awful in the volleyball championship when Ridgeview girls were playing.

Agree.  No knowledge of the teams at all.

I was thinking about the Tennessee title games vs the Virginia, the Tennessee production was MUCH better from the announcers to the camera work with replays. TN obviously has their games on one site so I guess they use the A team crew and can utilize multiple cameras at once, VA having three sites leads to three announcing crews and one camera is utilized at each site. Yet another reason VA should have all games on one site.

The TSSAA for all their greed and bull crap at times, does the Blue Cross Bowl as good as anybody in the country. The announcers know the teams and coaches well and Murphy Fair is a state treasure, They play 9 games over three days at one location, which Virginia could do at Tech or UVA if they wanted to do. The playoffs have been at MTSU, Tennessee Tech and now UTC, Tennessee Tech is my favorite location because of the closeness to the interstate and every kind of restaurant you could ever want to eat at is right there together. The VHSL needs to learn from the TSSAA and do a central location and have a weekend!

They could easily do it at Salem or Harrisonburg. I’d say those would be the best stadiums as they are a bit smaller so you can hear the crowds.

I dont believe the 4/5/6 A schools would be ok with Salem or VT, maybe not even UVA, due to the distance from the schools but Salem would be ideal imo due to stadium size. Small enough to be cozy, big enough to accommodate any fan base

Vt and UVA are too big in my opinion. I mean it can rotate between Salem, William and Mary and JMU. Those sites are all ideal to host a 2 day set up.

Liberty's Williams Stadium seats 25,000 and is about 15 miles from the geographic center of the state. The vast majority of schools are within 3 1/2 hours, with Arcadia (Eastern Shore) being the farthest at about 5 1/2 hours.

I want to see northern and Eastern Va figure out how to park there!

I feel like the locals could charge for parking in their driveways & yards and make a fortune 😂😂😂

They'd have to find it first.

In 2015, Glenvar's band, pep bus and a bunch of fans all went to the high school instead of the Park. Haha

I did the same thing in 03, went with a buddy who i assumed knew where he was going since his brother's had played against PV. He was just a kid during those games and paid no attention to directions 😂

I did the same thing on my first trip to Lebanon, I was 17 and it was the first away game I got to drive to by myself, I just did a quick turn around and followed the crowd, it worked out well.
