Observations that I saw were pretty much spot on for the first half. Tazewell handed them points on a gold platter with missed tackles and blown assignments. I don't know that they got to conservative as their passing game is nowhere near what it was last year. Their RB Rose is pretty good as far as breaking tackles and getting YAC. Couple of penalties killed late drives by the Dogs. V High will win games this year for sure just need to get more accuracy in their passing game. Dogs will give teams a fit this year that used to look over them. Tazewell could have easily give up and rolled over after being down by 22. Considering V high is mostly seniors and Tazewell is mostly sophmores, I think they did one heck of a job last night. I also rate the game last night as one of the better ones I have seen at Bulldog Stadium in several years.

Yep. 15 players on the official roster that are 6’2 and above. The starting 4 wideouts will be 6’5, 6’2, 5’11 and 5’10 with a 6’5 TE.

Tazewell Co hasn’t never been in the WCYB market, but WCYB used to cover it anyway along with WVVA. That changed a few years back with WVVA forced WCYB off of TV in TazCo, so WCYB quit going since no one could watch the shows anymore.

In my high school days, (decades ago), GC was the top team of the area and beat the stuffings out of RHS every year, but no matter the score, as fans we always supported our team. To us a victory was being able to score on GC and when we did, the fans in the stands went crazy. You would think we had won the super bowl, but it was all about supporting our team no matter what the outcome of the game. We all like to be winners, and we all hate to loose, but we should all support our teams, no matter the outcome. You GC fans have to realize that it was never easy for all the area teams to receive a beat down from you guys year in and year out, but we endured the loosing to support our team for the players on the field. If you are truly a GC fan, you need to forget the past and support the players no matter what. We all like to live in a perfect world where our team wins every game by a great margin, but reality moves into our perfect world and we stop dreaming and start supporting. RIchland 28 Gate City 7

Martinsville is really struggling with numbers. Only dressed 18 varsity players for their scrimmage and benefit game. Looked better because they dressed out over half of their jv team to give them 30 players. Hope we have an injury free game tonite because the Dogs have William Byrd and GW- Danville coming up and they definitely will feel the effects of a small roster those nights. There is another component to these cancellations that no one mentions. Loudoun County has at least 10 high schools (more I think). They allow the students to pick which high school they want to attend. Many, many football players chose to go to the "football" schools in the county. The same happens in the other sports. We happened to do a fairly big job in Loudoun not long ago. The locals, who cared about HS sports, stated that there are football schools, basketball schools and so on. Manassas Park is about 3 blocks away from Osbourne Park High School. Most of the MP football players now go to Osbourne due to a much better stadium, weight room, coaching staff etc. The school jurisdictions allow it. Same thing happens at George Mason in Falls Church...only they get all the soccer players in the area due to Moore Cadillac giving them the nicest facilities for soccer anywhere around. Can't really blame the folks for taking advantage of the situations. But this PROBABLY would not have happened at PV Sterling or MP if the locales had hard and fast rules about playing in the jurisdiction in which you live.

First half was a classic case of freshmen and sophomores doing freshmen and sophomore things missed tackles, a couple people missing defensive assignments, and one really bad penalty. The second half Tazewell cleaned up a lot of those issues but I also felt like Va High got a little conservative too early. Tazewell has the talent to compete their youth still shows through at times though.

Union needs to work on pass D, and I think the stats from the articles above will tell you that. It's not last year's D, but it's still pretty good with potential to be very good. Biggest improvement in a season is supposed to be between week 1 and 2. I guess we'll find out next week where this unit is.

Richlands has 52 out for their 7/8th grade team.

Will UVAO sit by idly and allow this conversation to continue. One may never know.

Obama created so much racial animosity by attacking the police when they had done nothing wrong in the Henry Louis Gates case that he had to have a ridiculous “beer summit” to try to undo the damage. The Department of Justice failed to pursue a voter intimidation case against members of the New Black Panthers because they were black and liberal. Former DOJ official J Christian Adams quit over the case and “accused his former employer of instructing attorneys in the civil rights division to ignore cases that involve black defendants and white victims.” Despite the fact that Barack Obama claimed to believe that marriage should be between one man and one woman when he was running for President in 2008, his Department of Justice asked states attorney general to refuse to defend their states’ bans on gay marriage in court. He released 5 Taliban terrorists In exchange for deserter Bowe Bergdahl. I could go on but won’t. I will say that the only politician to not take an IPO would probably be Rand Paul Senator Kentucky
