I hope Giles beats the Class 2 school that cried and was allowed to stay in Class 1 by 50 points.

Nice touch adding "Fighting" to "Serial Killers" to make it even more menacing.

The Randall Lee Smith High "Fighting Serial Killers." Mascot would be a foul smelling bum who runs on the field in camouflage, a large hunting knife, a pistol, and as he's running, he's continuously talking to himself. Now, after the run out, you have to contain him. He's not necessarily the type of mascot you want to mingle with fans. Treat him like Ralphie in Boulder. Let him run out and lead the way, but you've got to move quickly to corral him fairly quick, or damage is done. Might be too soon for that and now that I think of it, I don't even know if he qualified as technically a serial killer.

Watched THE Benjamin School from West Palm Beach take on Jensen Beach last night in a battle of undefeated, top 5 teams in their divisions in front of a crowd of 500 or so. THE Benjamin School had two 4 star kids, including a RB committed to UGA , 3 star OT headed to UCF and a 3 star WR headed to Wake Forest. THE Benjamin School won 24-0 in a game that took 1 hour and 49 minutes to complete. In old time Tom Turner fashion, TBS kept the football for over 10 minutes in the first quarter and Jensen ran only 22 plays for the entire game.

What about New HS with River as the mascot? Get real Bland with it. No offense to Bland HS.

Gate City plays quite a few underclassmen also. That being said, I can see Union blowing them out of the water after last years games but then again every time I've ever expected us to get whipped we seem to find a way to be in the game. Luckily I'm not a betting man.

I hope , for the sake of the players, Richlands wins, but in all reality, this team has a problem. I won't discuss what I think that problem is, but I believe from talking to a lot of people, everyone knows what it is, but no one from the top down wants to fix it. Lebanon-I have not seen them in person but several games on NFHS. All the talk about the QB being the best on that end of the state I think was a little over hyped now that they are 1-3 and 2 of the loses have been by 20+. In all my years if a kid is head and shoulders better than most everyone they play then he can do a lot on his own. I understand there's 11 on the field but at their level one really good player can make some big plays and keep the games somewhat close. I may be in the wrong but for what I was reading before the season I would've thought they'd be 3-1 or 4-0.

Probably don’t have the numbers to be competitive. They lost 9-10 holdbacks to the Middle School. These schools just don’t have the numbers to overcome that and still field competitive Middle, JV and varsity squads. Just don’t have the numbers.

1. Radford has surprised me more than anyone. They seem better this year than last year when they had Baylor and Preilou(not sure how to spell it). Their team speed on both sides of the ball is insane. They held a good Pulaski team to 10 points. That same Pulaski team just put up 40 on Princeton. But does Christ has what it takes to get them over the Glenvar/Appo hump? 2. Grayson. I expected them to win most of their games decisively but they have struggled with weaker opponents. They did give Narrows a 34-6 beat down in the scrimmage but it’s hard to judge that. If they come out and beat Giles 40-0 on Friday then I’ll put them back at the top of the Region. 3. Galax/GW - both of these have played a brutal schedule so far with Glenvar, Graham, and Radford. But last year, they were competitive in these games as GW and Galax were Graham’s toughest opponents IMO. Are we about to witness a rare fall off in Galax and GW? Or will both of these schools start finding their stride and end up in the region championship?

Wouldn't bother me to see Graham recruit the ever loving heck out of West Virginia and bring in all kinds of hoopers and lay it to John Marshall. Wouldn't bother me one little bit. Lay it to em G-Men!
