    I thought the following stats deserved to be posted for all to see...outstanding job Beavers Dave Morrison‏ @sddsports Bluefield rushed for 4,620 yards in 2017. Take out Kennedy Award winner Mookie Collier’s 2,234 and Bluefield’s 2,386 was still more than 12 of 21 other area teams. Truck Edwards had 1,148. Juice Edwards 361, J.J.     I think a guy to watch defensively will be the Polier kid from Union. I was very impressed with him at DE last year, and if I am not mistaken he made a deep run in the state tournament in wrestling and has only got stronger!!!

    UVA-Wise Vs. Emory & Henry. How these 2 teams don't play ever year is beyond stupid. Big gates and very competitive games but Emory refuses to play.

    I don't see a school from WV beating the Beavers this year. Graham, Richlands, and Lord Botetourt have the best chances to win against the Beavers but still it will be tough. Hearing that the defense should be scary good this year. They have a pretty good shot of going back to back even with the Mookie and Truck now gone. I have said it before and I will say it again, Bluefield doesn't rebuild, they reload.

    I picked up tickets yesterday to take my brother to watch the US Men’s National Team take on Mexico in a friendly in Nashville on 9/11. Pretty pumped to see the USMNT for the first time. And against our biggest rival, nonetheless.

    Last I heard Barry Jones will be coming back to Union to help out, but Jay Edwards will be the D coordinator. If Barry does come back, I’ll be really excited to see him back on the field as a coach. Probably the best coach I ever had in any sport, great motivator and expected the best from you every day out!!! Always seemed to get the best out of each player he coached!!

    McClung is in a prime position to get a quality education at little to no personal expense. Anything in addition is pure gravy! Given 1.2% of all eligible college players get drafted while only 0.7% actually make an NBA roster, let’s wish the young man much success in pursuit of his education while enjoying four healthy seasons of major college basketball.

    You'd be hard pressed to find a kid as good as Mookie Collier these days. He's someone who truly deserves every good thing that comes his way. Hopefully he doesn't get snubbed for the Kennedy award.
