2025 Schedules

And its really hard to find games for some as well.  Every 2 years leads to a few surprise matchups.

I believe Bland plays an independent schedule in football unless that’s changed. I saw that mentioned on this board at some point last year. As far as I know, Bland completed their season. Maybe someone else knows for sure.

Robbie is a jewel! Our son played football for him at Sullivan North. Robbie and my wife have been lifelong friends and classmates all the way through school (K-12) he has overcame a lot of obstacles to get to where he is, he is extremely shy and doesn't seek the spotlight at all, but he loves to coach kids and knows football, especially offense and particularly the Wing T, as good as anyone coaching. On of my favorite things he does is that he goes to NFL coaching clinics and learned how to manage a roster with just 53 players, he says that is about all you need if you manage it right. I will go watch him coach at Tri-Cities Christian, like I did at Rye Cove. Tri Cities is building a Lakeway Christian 2.0 at the Tri Cities Crossings, Lakeway has some amazing facilities and when finished will be full very soon after! Oh and don't be surprised if some very good assistant coaches from the area join him there. Oh, Tennessee now has school choice too!

It is ran by the same group that purchased Tri Cities, they are suppose to build it's twin at the new site near the I-81 and I-26 interchange.

If it’s going to be a big time private school football. I wonder what impacts it’ll have. Especially on the tri cities public school like DB and SH. Especially if they can recruit and offer scholarships.

I don't think that it will hurt DB or SH at all, those kids are there for a reason! It will hurt West Ridge and Boone a bunch. They will be able to draw kids from three counties (Sullivan, Washington and Greene) and could impact Gate City of all places because of the school choice vouchers, there are a lot of Tennessee kids in the Scott County Public Schools. We shall see the total impact when it happens, they may siphon off a few DB kids, but I doubt it. I don't think that they do scholarships, but they will definitely offer parents an alternative choice of schools. Johnson City already has two private schools (University High and Providence Academy both of those will benefit from the school choice vouchers too.

Lakeway is getting serious... they hired Knoxville native Greg Vandagriff from Athens, GA.
In 9 years at Prince Avenue Christian, he went 107-16 with three state titles.

Agree about Norris. When he was at North, you might out talent them, but you weren't going to out hit or out scrap them. Their double OT loss at Elizabethton in the playoffs was one of the better high school games I've ever seen in terms of an underdog nearly pulling the upset. If Vegas would have made a spread on that, it would have been Betsy -21, but the Raiders traded blow for blow for 4 quarters and 2 overtimes before falling.

this was after kingsport had killed sn enrollment . they only had half what elizabethton had.
