Anybody else read this the way I did???

Hello Everyone. Been reading the board for a while, but joined last night. My name is Bob and I graduated from Lee in 2000 and now living in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I've enjoyed reading and keeping up with all the local teams. Living so far away I probably wont post as much, but thought I would introduce myself. Bob

Ok guys, I said that the Canes had a good team this year. I knew they could play with GW. Congratulations on the win. GW is still a force to be reckoned with in 1A. Both are two good teams.

They definitely need to pick a QB. The offense we ran Friday will win you some games against weaker competition but if we plan on making a run in the playoffs were gonna need some kind of passing attack.

Okay, wanna do a signature or avatar bet? A friendly wager, nothing malicious. I'd bet that he won't top 80 yards as long as the Union first team sees the field. You win, I'll put up a RV avatar for a week. I win, you put up a Union one for a week. I'm sure the kid is a good back, and I'm sure the RV OL isn't bad or anything, but Richlands as a team had less than 100 yards, and JIB who ran it like 50 times had basically nil. Unions far from a perfect team, but the rush defense is outstanding.

I'm right with everyone here. I just like to get a better argument on the topic with better details other than people saying this team no matter what is the best. But overall there have been great teams and athletes who have come from these small towns. It's part of the reason we are all football nuts I suppose.

I coupldnt find stats anywhere. I'd like to see the rush totals. From what I gather, Mitchell likely had 300+ all purpose yards and Union likely had over 500 rushing.

Haven't saw RV, I just figure Union will take a couple weeks to settle in without Turner, and RV is a well coached team. If they (RV) have to run the ball, Union kills them. You can't run on Union. But, if RV can make big pass plays and limit the Union possessions it could be tight. I think the Union talent and depth take over late, but RV may get a couple early.

Talked with the Bluefield staff and the "plain" look was to re focus the program on the tradition at Bluefield and to honor the 1967 champions. It is my understanding that it is temporary.

Ridgeview defense really stepped up last night and limited central qb to an extent I did not think possible.....on offense they took what central gave them with several players stepping up with big plays and the freshman rb has a chance to be a special player over the next 4 years.........rv needs to take this win build off it and get ready for union next Friday Central is a solid team and they need to use this loss as a tool to work on mixing up there play calling there qb is a solid passer and a great runner but if you only run 5 plays you are really helping out the defense

You're right, my apologies. They're a young team, new head coach and hopefully this is a building season and they'll continue to improve and win.
