A few of these guys take this way too personally. My mistake was an honest mistake. I don't spend my day fighting over high school kids and their teams. It's not really that important to me. I do this for entertainment. I realize it's life and death for some, but that's their business, not mine.

Same here. Have no prob with RV pulling against us in regular season for a co district title. I’m not getting tore up over that. To each their own. It’s power point time. Like u said, this week I’m pulling for GC, who I dislike to an unhealthy level along with burton and abingdon. But I want burton to win out. GC win over Central helps us without helping graham. It’s about like fantasy football. I want the points, don’t really care about the team lol. I’m hoping Tazewell loses their last two games, but have no grudge with those Dawgs. Bottom line, if you want to be the champs, your gonna have to beat whoever wherever. Sure I want graham to have to come to the park. Or Marion. Or RV to come back and get some more. But if we go on the road, so be it.

I'm like Bigrhsfan, I came out of the 70s and remember more bad than good from that time. The last ten years have been a blessing that I will always treasure. Unfortunately good times grows fans that expect winning all the time, if you have read this board for any length of time you know a few of those, all schools have them. Time always has a way of humbling them. I had a uncle who moved to Tazewell back in the 60s with his boys, would bet G-Man was good friends with him. Before I knew what football was one of his son's was always rubbing it in when them Dogs beat Richlands. Time changes things back and forth if you are around long enough to notice.

Really? Now I'm about 100% sure if we were still in contention for a state title and RV was out, then those boys up on Rose Ridge would be pulling for those Bears down here in the valley. I can't say that I blame the guy for pulling against us this week, as I know I would be if the roles were reversed. Dont be that guy.

I understand because here's the deal. I'm rooting for whatever team helps my team. Just like Central/GC. I'm a Blue Devil this week. If it was reversed and we needed Central to win, I would be a Warrior....puked in my mouth a little when I typed that. If I thought a Ridgeview loss would help the Bears, I'd come to Rose Ridge and put TurboLax in the water cooler. haha

Haysi wasn't in the LPD... at least not in my lifetime. And I recall at least 3 times Haysi did in fact beat you on the field. GO BIG RED! I'm pretty sure if the roles were reversed would you NOT be pulling for us to lose so you could say you were district champs? I would be expecting you to. And be cool with it. Not such a whiner. See! You get it. I can talk to you and not feel a backlash of hatred spewing back at me. I don't figure the points ahead, just at the moment, so... but it would be nice to say we were co-district champs as well. Although Abingdon could say that as well with two wins to finish out :D

Was at the Graham vs Richlands game and did not think Graham came out flat, just wasn't expecting the strength of Richlands "D". Graham has good talent that is hard to handle in space and should win this game. I don't look for a blow out, but Graham wins by 2 TD's.

I look for it to be a good one. Ft Chiswell was the second best all around team I have seen this year. There are better offenses and better defenses but if Graham shows up flat like they did against Richlands, watch for the upset. If Graham shows up ready to play then I see a 14 pt game.

Realistically speaking, yes, top 5 is locked. I think VHS is the only one vulnerable to dropping out of the top 5, and that would take losing their last 2 and Battle or Lee winning out like you said. So, with all this, it probably comes down to (g) and Richlands would get it based on their opponents having a bigger average I would guess.

I think Graham will win by 2-3 touchdowns but wouldn't be surprised if Fort put up a good fight especially early.

you nailed it 100% there. I can't stand Tom Brady on the football field, but I picked him up in FF, just for the fact he's so damn good. I pull for him on sundays on ESPN's site, but against him on Fox. lol

Ok, that lines up with what I was thinking. I came up with 274 being the maximum, but that's saying the same scenario you did but with Princeton beating Greenbrier East too. It's crazy how big of implications the GC-Central game could have. My opinion, I honestly think Central will lose to Gate City, Tazewell will lose to Grundy, & Princeton will beat GE but lose to Brooke. Barring any upsets Fort Chiswell, Giles, and Bluefield should win their remaining game. So that's how I came up with 268.

That extra point for Ridgeview won't matter, but Union's loss of points will. If Abingdon beats Union, Ridgeview will be #2 by a mile regardless of Graham/Marion. If Union wins, Ridgeview will be #3 by a mile.

I didn't do any C points this year, but if the guy on preps is correct the Region D winner, assuming it's the #1 seed should have more points than the Region C winner.

Not going to lie, I'm pulling for Abingdon to win the game for that extra bonus point and to have a share of that district championship. Don't think it will happen, but here's to hoping that Jordan can come back this week and make a difference. :)

I wonder if jarhead is the same guy who is apparently posting mad thoughts on Facebook that I keep hearing about because Ridgeview is #1 in the points this week? Dude, it's all going to work itself out. Calm down. Y'all take care of business these next two weeks, you'll be ahead of Ridgeview in the points regardless of what we do. We know that and we're cool with it.

I think Union is firm at 268. Possibility of 274, but 270 is probably more realistic. I think Graham is firm at 268 also. Possibility of 272, and 268 is just as probable as 272. Graham is sitting at 187. They would get 30 pts for Fort and 34 pts for Marion. That makes 251. They would get 2 pts each for Richlands/Lebanon, Tazewell/Lebanon, Marion/Va High, Richlands/Va High regardless of the winner. That makes 259. They can get 1 pt for Bluefield over James Monroe, 2pts each for Central over GC, Fort over Bland, Giles over Alleghany, Princeton over Greenbrier, Princeton over Brooke, Tazewell over Grundy for a possible total of 272. I'll create a thread of possibilities not just for Graham and Union, but for other Region D teams as well. With Bluefield, GC, Central, Letcher, Mo West, and Giles all playing their final game Friday along with Ridgeview/Pike and Tazewell/Grundy, the seeding will become a lot simpler to figure out come week 11.

If Richlands gets in the playoffs it will be interesting. They have been so close to all the teams they have lost to in the region, and they could be a tough out for the top tier teams. Things change during the season and Union has had to change some things due to injuries which would make an interesting game between them and Richlands. Richlands took Marion to the limit, and Graham to overtime, so I must imagine that either of those teams hope not to have to play Richlands again. Could be interesting. Throw out the records, if you get in the playoffs by the slightest margin, its a new season.

Union gave Ridgeview their ONLY loss. And it was a solid spanking. Their star freshmen RB was held to less yards rushing than his jersey number (24). Just curious of the thought process here.

Pay him no mind, no way Union is only 6th best team in area esp considering Union beat RV by multiple TDs. Must not have seen Union or just hating lol.

went through it quickly after week 11 Appomattox 259-265 Glenvar 260-266 Giles 258-261 Didn't pick any upsets doing this with all relative games. Glenvar has a slighty better than 50-50 chance to overtake Appomattox for one seed. Will be tight. Will check after this weekends games. Giles has a slight chance only to take 2 spot unless glenvar looses. This wasn't done mathematically but likely. if fort(228-241) beats graham they should take fourth over Floyd(224-230). Gretna would be sixth(221-225) but didn't work dan river or Martinsville yet will work for fort loosing-they would more than likely be 6-7

If the playoffs started today in 2D who would you have in the region championship game?

You knew that a Band dork like myself would ask sooner or later. Out of all the high school teams you have watched around here (MINUS Richlands as you are a Richlands alumnus) which band has had the most positively interesting traditions at football games? Why?

What’s the best type of schedule? group A school of blind ? ( Bad district) and be 9-1 , 10-0? middle of road, district with mix of higher class but able to compete Murders row- you don’t have to get hype if you stay hype! District and best available opponent and ready for playoffs if you make it ?

You are possibly in the midst of your first 0-10 season. You definitely are in the midst of no better than 1-9. You went 3-7 in 2015 and missed the playoffs. You went 5-5 last year and lost the first round of the playoffs leading to a 5-6 record. You are in your third consecutive losing season and from what many GC fans are saying number 4 in a row may come next year. Whatever superiority is in the GC program is very quickly dwindling.

Graham's RB was pretty good but from an offensive standpoint, Cooke and Allen did most of the damage against us. Pierre, for Abingdon, has an extra gear that I didn't see out of Graham's RB. No slight to Graham's RB, he is a good ballplayer. Pierre also packs a pretty big punch for a smaller frame. He can break tackles. If he were Cooke's size, he would be getting a ton of recognition as well. Pierre, at least against us, had some ball security issues. That would be the biggest knock that I had against him. I've seen Union's front 7. If they play their game, it should still be enough to win the game. Abingdon does do a pretty good job with the Wing-T, which can be deceptive if run correctly, but without much of a passing game, a dominant D like Union's should be ok. Abingdon's coach deserves a ton of credit, with such a drastic change in skill personnel, to still be able to have a productive offense in a completely different scheme from last year.
