    Podcast Questions?!?

They are from Beckley, WV. The singer is from Tazewell. I’m good friends with those guys and have played in several bands with them over the years. They let us use the song. You can find them here https://m.facebook.com/kindthievesofficial/ They play in our region all the time. I HIGHLY recommend getting out to see them. Amazing musicians.

    Podcast Questions?!?

Timmy Hess and Kanin Lewis scored fourth-quarter touchdowns as Ridgeview recorded a 31-20 win over Chilhowie on Friday night in a VHSL Benefit football game between two of the top teams in far Southwest Virginia. Chilhowie led 20-17 after three quarters and the Warriors got a strong performance from senior running back Greg Sanchez. Sanchez rushed for 111 yards on five carries, scored two touchdowns and also kicked two field goals. Anthony Blevins added 78 yards on six carries for the Warriors. Trenton Adkins (11 carries, 94 yards, one touchdown) and Matthew Sexton (10 carries, 69 yards, one TD) led the Ridgeview rushing attack. ^^^^^ Chilhowie was 2-3 at this point last year. They’re 5-0 this year and are blowing every team out, so I feel that it’s safe to think that they aren’t coasting. Plus they was leading the best 2A team in our region when both teams pulled starters, albeit in a benefit game, but they proved their best can play with everyone else’s best.

  11. This is the surest way to get a prediction correct. Pick one team, wait a day or so, then pick the other team. I like it! 🍻 I’m with ya, though. Go Bearcats!

  12. I'm with the rest of the 2A crowd. I'm going to take the Bearcats. And no it won't be an upset like Casey Goetz will say. It'll be VHS just flat out beating a 1A team they should beat.

    Bluefield @ Richlands

Agreed, Race makes great decisions but if he is pressured by a great pass rush, it will very likely be a long night for the Richlands passing game!! Just hope we can get the running game established which would in turn slow down the pass rush some!!

    Union @ Morristown West

It is a good fan experience, plenty of seats and plenty of parking, pretty good concessions. It is field turf and has a video board. I have been there many times very nice place!

    Bluefield @ Richlands

Ultimately it sounds like it will come down to how mush protection Race gets and the time he has to get those passes off as to how close this game will be or if Richlands has a chance for a W. Bluefield has some major size and speed on that defensive line which is going to make things very difficult. Not to mention the beaver secondary which is pretty darn good as well. But with all of that said playing at Richlands is always a hard place to play for opposing teams. Is it Friday yet?!? 😂

    Bluefield @ Richlands

Or MV it could easily come down to the same thing with a late FG from Kaulin Parris. It is a definitely a heck of a high school kicker matchup with 2 of the best around.

    Bluefield @ Richlands

I am gonna say Richlands 10-7 with a late field goal by Levi Forrest lol Seriously, it looks like Bluefield is the real deal just based on the scores of their games and what people have said about them. I know Richlands will come to play. I feel Richlands needs to establish an "effective" running game and mix in the short passes. A methodical approach is likely Richlands best chance. Bluefields speed may very well be the difference. I know Blacksburgs sure was!!! Hoping for a good game

  25. I'll say this much, Bluefield this year is probably the best all around team I have ever seen in person. Their secondary has eyes on the ball and makes adjustments to make the play. Going to be very hard to go deep on them unless you have a very speedy receiver. The passing to the flats and quick hits is the best thing you can do to them and they react quick to it and have solid tackling so there is no YAC. Good luck trying to get to the edge on them either. Even with the speed that we have they shut it down quick. If Richlands has a week front line it will be a long night for them. Could be wrong like I was last week about them but I don't see this as ever being a close game. Even if they pull starters and let Richlands think they are going to try and come back look for it to get shutdown real quick.

  26. Bad matchup for Richlands, strength on weakness. Bluefield comfortably (3+ scores).

  27. I heard you can only "transfer" funds to Richlands. Apparently if they go anywhere else, it's chalked up as a loss.

  29. With respect to VHS, which is a very talented team I don't think the running game will hurt the Warriors. They have depth to keep the defense fresh somewhat. Both teams have talent all over the field on both sides of the ball. I think this will be a very memorable game. I also think it will be super tight but the Warriors will be helped with home field advantage. CHS 31 VHS 21
